- For those staying in Northport, visit the Grand Traverse Lighthouse. Found inside the Leelanau State Park, the fully restored lighthouse offers visitors incredible views of Lake Michigan.
- Found north of Frankfort, the Point Betsie Lighthouse is one of Michigan’s most photographed lighthouses. It has been in continuous operation since 1858.
- There’s also the North Pier Lighthouse in Frankfort. Found at the end of a pier on Lake Michigan, this spot is especially stunning at sunset. To reach the lighthouse, take Main Street to the public beach and follow the pier.
- Located off the shores of Leland is the North Manitou Shoal Lighthouse, which was completed in 1935. Also known as The Crib, this was the last Great Lakes-operated offshore light until it became automated in 1980.
