The main level features a spacious living room/kitchen combo with a great view of the lake. There's a large flat-panel TV with cable and a large deck just off the living room. The fully stocked kitchen includes a gas stove, dishwasher, and all the tools needed to prepare meals for the whole family. Additionally, there is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. There are 2 bedrooms: 1 with a King bed and the other with 2 Queens, each equipped with "Smart TVs” rather than Cable TVs. There is also 1 full bathroom and 1 half bath.
Upstairs, there's a bedroom with a King bed and a full bathroom.
The walk-out lower level features three bedrooms—one Queen, two twins, and two twins—and one full bathroom. There's a fantastic family/game room to relax in, with opportunities to play pool, shuffleboard, or Pac-Man. Afterward, you can unwind in front of a large TV with cable! There's also an enclosed porch off the lower level family room that overlooks the water (please note that the outdoor room can get hot and muggy in the heat of summer).
The outdoor area is fabulous. You'll find a private lakefront with plenty of space for water activities. The shore is a bit soft, and the sand gets harder as you move out into the lake. There are 4 kayaks, a canoe, and a pedal boat available for water fun, as well as a swim raft. If you're bringing your own boat, there's a boat launch just down the street. The property also has a dock where a boat up to 22' can be tied. Additionally, a gas grill, outdoor furniture, and a fire pit enhance the outdoor experience. Tippicanoe Lodge promises to be an unforgettable vacation. A Well-behaved dog is welcome with an additional nonrefundable cleaning fee. However, their humans are expected to clean up after their pets outside.
Spider Lake is located 12 miles south of downtown Traverse City. It's an easy trip to the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, which is only 11.5 miles away. Shopping is conveniently located just 5 miles from the property. You can also enjoy various festivals, wine tours, hiking, biking, music, and more. Elmbrook Golf Course is only 5 miles away. There's so much to do in this great northern area.

Grace McDonald Park is about 2 miles from the house. It is 42 acres and has a baseball field, an all-purpose field (with soccer goals and football uprights), a new pickle ball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. It also has a pavilion area with grills and picnic tables, a sledding hill, hiking trails, and playground equipment.

I highly recommend this lake house it is absolutely beautiful, the kids loved the pool table and game room and enjoyed the swim dock they spent hours jumping off it, I enjoyed the kayaks morning and night, such a beautiful lake�� We met a friendly neighbor cat and so many beautiful dragonflies. This house was super clean and we had no problems so I give it a 10/10 we will be back �� p.s. the only thing I recommend for the owners is update there board games and maybe a couple family movies ��

The house was great. We had a family of 9. Plenty of space. The basement was used by the 3 teenage boys. The kitchen table for 9 was a favorite. We were able to sit together for dinner every night. Fridge space was great. Kitchen had everything we needed. Towels were soft. Very clean. The only recommendation would be to check a couple things between stays. Upstairs bathroom 4 bulbs blown out. Living area we had to replace batteries. No extra garbage bags. These were small items and not a big deal. We still enjoyed ourselves. Amenities were great for water and house.

The house was lovely and the location was ideal. Spider Lake is quite beautiful and we enjoyed the use of the kayaks, canoe, and pedal boat as well as swimming off the raft. It was also close to Traverse City and near enough to Interlochen Arts camp where one of our family members teaches in the summer to make it the perfect place to all get together. The house was extremely well kept and looked better than in the photographs. There was plenty of room for everyone to do things together and to separate at times. The kitchen was well equipped and having 2 refrigerators was great. We had room for everything and were able to cook almost all of our meals there. We hope to stay in Tippicanoe Lodge again next year.

Second year for our group at this house. It is a great rental with plenty of room for 10 adults. The home was clean, in great shape and provided everything we needed to feed everyone on multiple occasions. The view of the lake was amazing from the kitchen & family room. The beds were comfortable and the game room provided enough activities and space for everyone to gather! Highly recommend.

Overall, a wonderful lakefront property! We had a great time on the lake and were pleased by how convenient the house is to Traverse City amenities. While the house served our large family well, we were disappointed with how it has been maintained, particularly on the outside. We stayed last year during the same week, and found many of the same concerns - broken furniture, cluttered unkept sunroom, damaged solar lights and dirty unsafe water equipment. Inside we found a disorganized kitchen (we addressed ourselves and left it in a much better state), cluttered utility closets (they just need to be emptied), slow drains and leaky faucets. It is worth noting we contacted Visit Up North and they promptly sent someone to address some of the immediate issues, but we felt most should have been identified and addressed BEFORE our arrival. Despite these complaints, we plan to rent again in 2023 - the size and location can't be beat! We look forward to seeing property improvements next year.

This place is in a great location and serves as a great lodging for our group, however this year (and I understand most is weather related) our stay was a bit more difficult as access to the property became very dangerous both driving and walking from the driveway to the home, conditions were very slippery and access had not been fully cleared. There was also a thick layer of ice in the 3 season room that had pushed the door open and froze it in that position, so that room was unusable. We understand that the climate and weather is mostly at fault, but since several people fell in the property due to these conditions I felt it worth mentioning. Overall, we would stay here again!

Our rental was on a beautiful lake. The house accommodated our larger group very easily. It was in a great location only 15 minutes from downtown and plenty of room for all. The basement had a nice set up with additional games and such which was a nice touch. Firepit overlooking the lake was great as well. The only thing I would say is that the home needs some updating and certain things need to be replaced. Otherwise, it was a great time for our group!

The house is well appointed and lovely. Kitchen has all needed gadgets except for a blender. The 2 king beds are devine! The other beds are not comfortable at all for adults and could use an upgrade (memory foam toppers are amazing and inexpensive hint hint!). We enjoyed the canoe and the firepit.

Really nice, rented for 2022: things needed to be done: Solar lights on dark stairs don’t work, deck needs painting, plastic chairs are cracked, kitchen frig is loud and failing and shelves are cracked, provide window and general cleaning supplies, ceiling fan family room doesn’t work, 1/2 bath toilet needs repair, cabinet doors need adjustment and lubricant, lower level patio filthy and unusable.

The house was great; perfect size, layout and clean. A couple of recommendations on the house - 1) put a couple of glade plug-ins in the lower level to remove the musty/moldy smell that is in all lower level lake homes - it works great! We put one in the hallway and another by the games near the pool table. 2) fix the leaky roof in the screened in porch; it rained and we were not able to use that part of the house due to the leaks.The outside was nice; having access to the canoe, kayaks and paddle boats were good. A couple of recommendations - 1) remove the trees closest to the house and water on the lake side. There is no sun and the view of the lake is all trees. The branches touching the house allowed the squirrels to get on the roof and way too many acorns on the deck and steps to the beach.There is no place to put yard games on the lake side with all the trees. No one wants to spend there vacation on the road side of a lake house. 2) the fire pit area is too small. As the fire got hot, so we had to go up to the house because the wall prevents you from moving away in that direction and the other way puts you in the water.One very disappointing thing was the garbage - I called with my concerns prior to arrival and was told we would not have to touch the trash bins. However, on the day of trash pick up we received an email telling us to bring the 4 trash bins from the road, up hill approximately 1/4 mile to the house. This was awful...paying over 8K for the week, no one renting the house should have to touch the trash bins.We are a family that enjoys the sun and while the house was good we will look for a place with a open beach, large fire pit area and less trees near the house. On the review we marked we would recommend this house, but only because there was not a maybe option.

Great accommodations for up to 14 people! Lots of additional perks for kids, 8 yrs and up (pool table, table shuffleboard, kayaks, paddleboats, canoe, raft in lake). Great location on Spider Lake with boat launch access very close by. A few things were broken (rental company was responsive but several items should have been taken care of before we arrived!), some cleaning was needed (we just did it)We would definitely go back, although the cost was fairly expensive!!

We rented a home on Spider Lake called Tippicanoe Lodge near Traverse City. There were six adults and three children. The home was very clean and very spacious. The location was excellent, the view of the lake from the large porch was so nice. The management company was always available to help with any issues. We did have a couple of minor plumbing issues but the management company sent a plumber to correct the problems. The plumber was very knowledgeable and did a great job fixing the problems. We would highly recommend Up North Management company to future renters. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home on Spider Lake.

We had a fabulous time at this house. It’s even bigger than it looks in pictures- we had tons of room with 8 people and would be very comfortable up to 12. The dock and boats are fantastic and kitchen is well-stocked. Location was great for Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Spider Lake was plenty warm to swim in June. Only complaint would be that the upper and lower bathrooms are showing their age, but were functional. Overall an A visit for sure!

It was our first time visiting Spider Lake and it was simply magical. Upon arrival the front of the house is average but once you enter the main floor opens up to an incredible view of the water. The main living space is perfect for entertaining. This level is updated and contains everything you need for a family vacation. We had a problem with the coffee maker and a new one was promptly delivered. The upper deck was our favorite hangout and the grill was decent. The best part was the dock and use of kayaks and paddle boats. The fire pit had plenty of wood but we bought some in case we needed it. The only cons are there are a few areas in the house that could use some refreshing. The lower outdoor porch looks nice in photos but needs a very good cleaning and the lower level patio stones need some upkeep. The front of the house and landscaping needs a little tlc (please replace tattered flag) to help with first impressions. However overall we absolutely loved our vacation and definitely would return!

We took full advantage of the lakefront and water toys but also loved relaxing on the big deck, watching the sunrise and having our meals. The house was well stocked - particularly the kitchen which was great because we have family members who love to cook. And the location is very convenient - 10 minutes to a grocery store but you feel like you are far away from it all. With 10 adults and 3 children under age 3, the house never felt crowded. Would highly recommend,

The house was great. Plenty of room for a large group. Located on a lake not far from T.C. We had about two feet of snow accumulation while we were there, could've used another shovel or two.

We came and stayed with three families for Ironman week and this house was perfect. Easy to get back and forth to downtown TC. House was clean and well maintained. It was great to have a garage to keep all of our bikes and bike stand. The only downside was that the lake did not have a sandy bottom for the kiddos!

The tippicanoe property was a wonderful location for our families vacation. There were 13 of us from 4 families and we had plenty of room to spare. The lake was wonderful and we highly recommend renting a pontoon boat to enjoy it fully.

Mileston Birthday at the Lake

We rented this property for a week long multi-generational milestone birthday - 14 people ages 6 to 75. We had the Midwest lake vacation of my childhood - swim rafts, kayaking, bonfires and cookouts. Sunrise over Spider Lake was beautiful. The property was perfect for our needs - comfortable, lots of space, well equipped, space for the adults and the kids to do their thing, friendly neighbors, convenient to the area's attractions. Staff was responsive to a couple of minor requests. We would recommend to others and would rent it again.

Our group of ladies had a wonderful long weekend at Tippicanoe! Lots of time was spent on the water enjoying the unseasonably warm Fall weekend. Views are beautiful!
