The Dragonfly is located in Elk Rapids on Bass Lake and is a charming cozy cottage that welcomes up to 4 guests.
The cottage is located right in the quaint town of Elk Rapids, on the east side of town. A sweet location that is sure to please. East Grand Traverse Bay is only minutes from here. Shorts Brewery is around the corner too.
The living room is off of the kitchen and features a smart TV with Direct TV. Off of the kitchen on the lakeside is an enclosed porch area, a perfect spot for morning coffee. 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Both bedrooms have a queen bed. Sheets and towels are included. Step out the porch door to a spacious deck with a perfect area to relax and grill. There is also a separate laundry room. 1 well-mannered pet is welcome.
Outdoors is a big grassy lawn area that walks down to your own private spot on the lake. You can sit on the deck and watch the kids play in the lake. There is a fire pit located close to the water. Plenty of outdoor furniture and a grill round out the comfort for outdoor fun. Walking distance to the grocery store and a couple of restaurants. A peaceful neighborhood is a perfect location to get away from it all. Elk Rapids is about 20 minutes from Traverse City. Kewadin is 10 minutes.

The house was clean upon check in. It had everything we needed to make a great and easy vacation for my family and I. We made lots of memories at thie lake and the house. The yard was big and roomy and have our dog room to play with the kids.

This was the PERFECT holiday getaway for two couples. The house is easily accessible and centrally located in the small town of Elk Rapids on a beautiful lake. The house was clean, had plenty of basic amenities, and the propane grill, fire pit, chairs, and two decks to sit on were awesome for just gathering outside. The road is quiet enough so my dog could run around. The place is walking distance to a brewery, restaurant, cafe, and grocery store. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Would love to come back here again! The water was CRYSTAL CLEAR and it was nice to be tucked away on a holiday weekend so we didn’t have chaotic boat traffic or partying around us. Also really appreciated all of the advice about keeping up north bugs away. If you’re coming here, pick up some cintronella candles and bracelets for outside.

The location of this property is ideal. Right on the smaller lake and within walking distance to bars/restaurants and the big lake. There are two bedrooms with 1 bathroom. A VERY SMALL galley kitchen. The house probably wouldn't be good for a long stay with many people. There were a few things that were in need of repair that I noticed while I was there. A few housekeeping things as well, but overall, it was a decent experience. If you don't like renting from a property management company, don't rent this unit - it looks like it is rented by an individual on the VRBO site, but then you'll get an email from a separate property management company to pay/contact to rent the unit. Just an FYI.

Cottage was well equipped in a convenient location with near by restaurants and beaches. The only drawbacks were the back sliding screen door would stick or come off the track easily. Many windows had screens with holes in them. The kitchen cupboards needed a deep cleaning: a broken bowl was in a cupboard, food was way past expiration dates, dust under tables and beds. Front door lock would not lock sometimes , had to play with the handle and the couch had dog hair on it. Also next to the stove, the floor was full of old food and needs a deep cleaning.

Perfect location as we loved walking to the store, restaurants etc.. And the backyard was great! We spent every morning on the deck enjoying the water.The cleaning person did a so-so job (empty beer cans under furniture, debris in the corner, toilet wasn't clean). Not a big deal.Our biggest complaint was the sofas smelled horrible. We washed some of the cushion covers and bought extra strength Fabreeze but the smell lingered...

We had a great time during our week long stay at The Dragonfly. It was the perfect size for me and my husband and our beagle. We made use of the dining table on the patio and had many fires in the fire pit. The kayaks on the property were fun as well. The location was perfect...close to the market, a very good restaurant and a quick walk to ice cream. It was a very relaxing stay. The floors could have been a little cleaner and the sheets may need an upgrade, but nothing that would keep us from staying again.

We normally stay at a different lake but decided it was time for a change. The location of the house was perfect. It’s nice because there is a small “she shed” as we called it also. There are restaurants in walking distance, and even the grocery store was right down the street. The house (and shed) are very small but really was only inside to shower and sleep. It was very hot at night without air conditioning; that may be the only thing to possibly add to this rental. To be honest, I was very shocked at how the house was “cleaned”, especially since we traveled during Covid, but besides that everything was nice. The lake was small and great to kayak on. The side streets weren’t busy so you could go for walks or bike rides.

Our 2 adult daughters and their boyfriends met us for the week at Dragonfly and we had a blast. My husband and I stayed in the little guest house and the young couples were in the main house. Such a beautiful setting on Bass Lake and the kayaks were used everyday!! Great location to the East Bay and Elk Lake. Plenty of outdoor seating for us. Quiet little street, friendly neighbors. We were here during Covid and the village we were able to dine out without a problem and Shorts had a food truck available too. We'll come back!

Had a great time the Dragonfly! The children loved having kayaks and a tow boat on site. The house was charming! 4 adults 2 children - we spent most of our time outside so the space was cozy but plentiful. The area was perfect not too populated but everything we needed right there. Ice cream shack in walking distance! So on the way home the question was asked what was your favorite part? The reply.... everything! There you have it - Applause, applause, applause!
