Located in the charming town of Glen Arbor, the Barn on the Bay is a new luxury home right outside of town. This wonderful open-concept home is situated in a beautiful park-like natural setting and around the corner from Lake Michigan. Three bedrooms (one is a loft) and two baths, welcome up to six guests. Will consider one dog 40 pounds or less. This property is beautifully furnished and modern, with gleaming hardwood floors.

Step into the spacious living room/kitchen/dining room area off of the deck. There are high ceilings and natural light pours in. It is a warm and welcoming space. Each window looks out on the restful natural surroundings.

There are two queen beds in the main level bedrooms and two full beds in the loft. With two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom steps out onto the spacious deck wrapped around part of the house.

The kitchen is well-appointed. If you love to cook, this kitchen does the trick. It is a Chef's kitchen with lots of counter space, a gas stove, and plenty of utensils. The living room features an electric fireplace to add ambiance, and a Smart TV with streaming only (no cable). WIFI provided.

The views from this space are lovely with cattails, cedars, and wildflowers peeking through. The nature lover will find the grounds enchanting with woodland animals and birds coming to visit. Outdoors, whether on the deck or sitting around the fire pit, relaxation and enjoyment await. A gas grill is provided as well as outdoor dining chairs and a picnic area. There is even an outdoor shower!

Lake Michigan is just 0.3 miles away and an easy walk down a quiet dirt road. The Crystal River is across the main road (M-22) and also has a dock.

Glen Arbor shops and dining are only minutes down the road, you can walk if you'd like! The Sleeping Bear Dune Climb is a 4.5 mile drive. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail connects nearby for biking and walking.

II’ve always been a lake girl. The short walk to Lake Michigan daily was therapy. Crystal River kayaking is a must! The barn was very clean and modern. Kids had fun sleeping in the loft but take care when using ladder- we had no issues. The outdoor shower was a fun experience after a long day at the beach. The outdoor fire pit was perfect for relaxation and stargazing. We will definitely rent again!

We were really happy with this vacation home and would definitely recommend it. The design and overall aesthetic is great. The location is very central; walking distance to the Crystal River, Lake Michigan and downtown Glen Arbor. Plus an easy drive to various trailheads. We appreciated having access to kayaks and chairs on the riverside dock in and used the fire pit in the backyard most evenings.The rental included well thought out amenities such as games, books, Bluetooth speakers and stocked kitchen. The unit and all linens were very clean. Overall, only positive things to say.

More like a palace then an animal shelter that the name implies. It's spacious and comfortably remodeled, a very nicely equipped kitchen and dining area that we used for all meals to avoid the expense of eating out. Would urge owners to relocate the key box from the porch post to the door since if the key happens to fall while replacing or opening the box it can fall into dense undergrowth below porch deck causing annoying search, particularly after dark. Really enjoyed our visit and hope to return next year if rent doesn't increse.

Great Choice near Glen Arbor

The Barn on Bay Lane was a terrific choice for our family (4 adults, 1 teen, small dog). It was clean and modern with ample space. The loft stairs were a bit tricky though, even for adults and teens. The house is close to other properties and M-22, but we had sufficient privacy. We loved walking to town and the lake. The alewives were a problem on the beach this summer, but we also enjoyed the beach at Glen Haven and a couple places closer to Empire and Frankfort. The bike path was wonderful as was the pontoon rental on Glen Lake. Grocery and restaurants were convenient, and we loved Bear Paw pizza. We didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but plenty to do in the area. Visit Up North made everything simple. We hope to return soon!

This property was immaculate and perfectly appointed. The floor plan is inspired for the use of a family of 4-5 ppl. The beds and linens were comfortable (and we never think that at rentals). And the location with town and beach access was perhaps best of all.Also, shout out to the management team for the prompt responses during booking, personal calls, and their thoughtfulness in accommodating our late arrival. Very Comfortable and Well-Equipped and Attractive

This new house is clean and extremely convenient. It is nicely decorated in modern farmhouse style. The furniture and beds are great, very comfortable. The lovely kitchen is well-equipped. The house is easy to keep clean and organized. The owner is very friendly and helpful and easily reachable. The house is close to the beach and to Glen Arbor. You can easily get to the bike path and the kayak put-in. The views from the partially covered deck and inside the main bedroom are lovely - woods and a part of the creek. The sleeping loft is cool. Note that the neighbors are very close as is M22, which is a fast road at that point and can be noisy during the day. You don’t see the road from the house and you hear nothing inside if the windows are shut, and the noise dies down at night. The walk to town on the beach is great. The walk along the road is shorter but a little nerve wracking especially if you have kids. But all in all a great rental, one of the better ones we’ve had over 25 years of staying in the area.
