This uniquely and beautifully designed inn is nestled in the trees. While it does not have access to direct waterfrontage it has fabulous views of North Lake Leelanau from the sprawling porch. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the sunrise/sunset on its lovely, large deck while drinking coffee in the morning or sipping wine in the evening. This home will provide a cozy and comfortable stay at a perfect location.

Leland is less than a mile from the house. Two public beaches nearby are Van's Beach on Lake Michigan, and Nedow's Bay Beach on Lake Leelanau. Approximately six miles south of the house, you will find Good Harbor Beach on Lake Michigan, a part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. There is a dog-friendly section of Good Harbor Beach for any water-loving pooches who might visit.

This home is one of our favorite places that we’ve ever stayed in. The character of the home is amazing. I have been trying to learn the history of the home and family but haven’t had much luck. The house accommodated our family of 8 adults, a 3 year old & two 20 month olds. Our favorite part of the home was the massive beautiful front porch with its lake view. We spent so much time on that porch & even had family dance parties out there! We loved how it didn’t get dark until after 10pm! The kitchen was overly stocked as well as lots of towels. Many more amenities than listed. Communication with the rental company was great. The entire property and area was fabulous! Sooo much to do. Bring fans! We did not & there is no AC & only 2 fans provided. This was stated in the description so that was our fault. We only have 2 complaints. First, though the house was top surface clean, it really needs a deep clean a few times a year. Under the couches, tables & chairs was very dirty. We know this because we had to retrieve toys several times that rolled under the couches mostly & it was very dirty. The refrigerator needs a better cleaning also. The other complaint is as far as I could see, the online checkout instructions said nothing about having to wash provided towels ourselves. I only saw it on a paper on the side of the refrigerator. Said we had to wash dry & fold towels and strip beds as this was not part of the cleaning crews job. I’ve never ever had to do these things when staying anywhere. It also said not to strip beds that weren’t used. So anyone could just make the bed as though it wasn’t used even if it was and the next people coming in would not even know. I do not like that possibility. All of this being said, I would absolutely stay at this rental again! I’m having front porch and lake view withdrawals! We plan on coming back in the future!

Our policy is to provide a fan for each bedroom, and we will follow up on this right away, as well as the housekeeping issues you mentioned. We apologize for the confusion regarding the beds and towels. Visit Up North does provide all towels and linens - and does not require our guest to ever wash towels or strip beds. The home was under different management and the old departure instructions were not removed. We have remedied this.
