South Village 7 at Visit Up North Vacation Rentals
This charming condo, situated amidst the woodland at The Homestead, is an excellent small getaway to experience everything in Glen Arbor. It features one bedroom and one bathroom and can accommodate up to four guests with the addition of a sleeper sofa. The condo is accessible via a wooded walkway. There are about three stairs at the start of the walkway and three to get into the condo.
The screened-in porch is perfect for unwinding with a good book and watching wildlife. The wood-burning fireplace creates a cozy ambiance when snow falls outside or on a chilly summer evening, and the wall-unit air conditioning ensures comfort on hot days.
Public access to Lake Michigan is less than two miles from the condo. The "village," with its ski hill, shops, golf course, and restaurants, is within walking distance. Additionally, it is two miles to Glen Arbor and six miles to the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb. For outdoor enthusiasts, kayaks and bikes are available for rent in Glen Arbor. Moreover, the area offers delightful shopping opportunities with its gift shops and art galleries.
Homestead Resort amenities (pool, tennis, etc.) are not included unless you book straight through the Homestead Resort. There are tennis courts in Glen Arbor.
No pets are allowed for guests per condo association rules.

Very clean. Attractively furnished. Wished the light outside the unit could be turned off as it streams into the living room all night. Needs dish towels. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

It's a nice cozy condo with all the basics that you usually get. The area is beautiful and you are close to many different things in the area. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fish town, Traverse City are all close by. The property provided a nice spot away from everything but close enough to get there easily.

This is a charming little condo. It was clean, nicely decorated, and had a pleasant setting in the woods. Directions regarding my responsibilities were clear. My only concern were the steps to the condo. There were 3 sets of 2 or 3 step sections that had no hand rail. I'm very glad I took my walking sticks. I think I might not have managed without them.

The rental unit was very nice and fit our needs very well. The location was great and easy to get to within the Homestead resort, it was within walking distance to Cavanaugh’s if you wanted to pick up any needed items, the beach was a short car ride or bike ride down the road. The unit itself was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed, nice living room, full kitchen, small table and chairs for dining. The town of Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes were a short car ride away. We had a little trouble at first with the lock box but were able to get that to work, and we wished the ac worked a little bit better for the bedroom but we used the supplied fan to help. Overall very pleased with our stay and would stay here again.

The rental is cozy, and quiet. We are used to staying right in downtown, so felt to far away. No where to store bikes, except in the screened porch, which was a bit of a hassle. We had an issue with the shower liner not being clean, but was quickly taken care of. Needs a fresh coat of paint.

For $300 a night, expected the unit to be in better shape. Half patched holes, trim beat up, couch unsittable. Only had ac in living room; bedroom quite warm. SHOCKED to learn no access to Homestead amenities. While language was buried in the contract, you should be overt with this information.

We are sorry you feel this way. The towel bar was ripped off the wall, and a quick repair was needed. There has not been time to have paint dry in the middle of the season, but it will be taken care of the next break in reservations. The couch was new just 2 years ago when most of the condo was totally renovated, and if you leave the door open to the bedroom, the AC unit is enough to cool the entire condo. The amenities of the homestead resort are mentioned in 3 different places in the description and again on the paperwork that is sent out. Again, we are sorry this was not a match.UP NORTH FUN

Overall enjoyed our stay. Decor was updated and location was convenient. Could improve upon the cleanliness of sheets and towels. We noted some stains on towels and sheets on the sofa bed were dirty as they looked as if they were not washed or changed from previous stay. This condo is best for only 2 adults. Sofa bed not very comfortable, and outside lights shine directly into family room. Outside lights cannot be tunred off if guest is sleeping on sofa bed.

A great vacation at a cute and well appointed condo in the woods. Glen Arbor is s great location close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Leland, and Suttons Bay. The Homestead is on Crystal River and Lake Michigan with plenty of activities anytime of the year. Hiking, kayaking, or skiing. The Village has their own entertainment with different places to grab a bite or a beverage. You can also go into town and get a great burger at Art’s Tavern, Bone’s for a great salad, fish, or steak, or Cherry Republic for a casual meal. We highly recommend this rental for a great “Up North” getaway!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo, and it had all we needed for our adventures on the Leelanau peninsula. While we didn't use it, it was nice that a washer and dryer was available. King bed was comfortable, fold out couch bed is very thin and uncomfortable - so I'd only recommend for 2 people not 4. Kitchen had all we needed. Plentiful towels, nice TV, and appreciated the modern decor. We were a bit confused by the lockbox upon arrival, as we didn't realize that the box is actually behind you, on the deck post, NOT the one hooked on the doorknob. The steps to the condo were wet and slick at times and leaves covered, and do not have handrails on all of the steps (only some of them). So if you have limited mobility or have older guests, be aware that the trek to and from the condo can be a little more difficult. Thank you for letting us stay! Lots to do and see in the area, and the colors were beautiful!

The bathroom had no vanity or counter top for our toiletries, just a 3x 15 shelf over the sink. It was very inconvenient for two people. The air conditioning did not work and the fan in the bedroom was on a timer that shut it off in less than two hours.

This condo was small but cozy with all the amenities you need! Nestled in the woods it is quiet but near a small area with a coffee shops & groceries. The only drawback is the long walk with lots of stairs from the parking lot. it made it difficult to bring luggage in especially for me with a bad knee. It didn’t deter me from enjoying the place & I would still rent again there

After a rough start, we had a wonderful time. The key box would not open and it took almost an hour to get around it via an emergency key. The back door was unlocked. We woke up the next morning to workers replacing the backscreen door. After those glitches, we had a wonderful time. Perfect condo for 2.

This place fit the bill for a perfect weekend getaway.Everything was as described. It was disappointing that there was no firewood for a fire and we were not able to get the dishwasher to work. There was also issues with the toilet plumbing and I guarantee that nothing went in there that wasn't eaten first. Other than those minor issues, it was a beautiful cozy place for a weekend getaway.

I came alone so space wasn't an issue, but I agree with other reviews that it would be tight for more than 2 people. The condo was clean and the decor seemed to have been updated recently. The TV remote was definitely confusing; there are actually 3 remotes but no instructions on which does what. Those should be provided for renters. Management was very accommodating when I wanted to extend my stay an extra day, then changed my mind because of traveling in poor weather. They processed my refund with no hesitation. My only issue was due to the fact that I made my reservation online over the weekend and hadn't received check-in instructions by the day before I was to leave. I ended up having to text the emergency number to get someone to contact me because the office was closed. Other than that, everything was smooth, it's a beautiful area of the state, and I enjoyed my stay.

We had a cute condo with a cozy fireplace. It was clean and had everything we needed. We had deer and wild turkey that visited outside our living room window! It was peaceful with very few people in our complex. We had the best burgers and beverages at Art’s Tavern in town. This is a great getaway for reconnecting. We will definitely be back and highly recommend The Homestead.

The rental was fine for our needs. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The pull out couch however, was not comfortable for sleeping at all. My daughters ended up sleeping on the floor. WE had an issue with the lock and couldn't get in Saturday night when we returned. A locksmith had to be called and come from Traverse City so we spent an hour in the car waiting. He was able to fix it but that was a bit of an inconvenience. Overall it was fine. I would stay again if I knew the lock wouldn't be an issue.
