Slice of River Life is located on the beautiful Boardman River. The swim spa, which is like a cozy combination of a small pool and a hot tub, offers a delightful experience because it is spacious and versatile. It comfortably fits everyone in your group, whether you want to swim against the gentle current or relax and play around. Plus, there are two hot tub chairs with soothing jets for added relaxation!

Just seven miles from the heart of Traverse City, this charming riverfront home offers a peaceful escape that's still conveniently close to all the wonderful attractions the city has to offer. Nestled on nearly five acres—most across the river for extra privacy—this cozy cottage is situated along the beautiful banks of the Boardman River. It's a blue-ribbon trout stream where you can enjoy fly fishing right from your doorstep, or take a short drive downstream to tube back and enjoy a delightful BBQ. It’s the perfect blend of tranquility and adventure for your perfect getaway.

This lovely space comfortably sleeps eight, featuring an adjustable king bed upstairs. The cozy master bedroom comes with a private bathroom that includes a shower and a relaxing soaking bath. Two additional bedrooms are equipped with inviting queen beds. On the main level, you'll find a convenient queen sleeper sofa, along with a bathroom. Plus, there's an outdoor shower near the hot tub, perfect for a refreshing rinse after your soak.

The spacious open kitchen, dining, and living area features a stunning stone gas fireplace. This lovely property provides direct access to the river, a generous swim spa, and an outdoor shower! Inside, you'll find a fun game room complete with a bar, pool table, darts, and a TV. The fire pit is truly special, surrounded by beach sand and eight cozy Adirondack chairs—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stars! Plus, the home includes a professional putting green for added enjoyment.

Enjoy the wonderful activities like kayaking, canoeing, inner-tubing, swimming, fishing, fly fishing, and Morel mushrooming. You'll also love bird watching and possibly catching a glimpse of a deer or other wildlife in the area! Plus, it's just sixteen miles to Flint Fields for the exciting Horses By the Bay Horse Show during the season.

We absolutely loved the house. Quiet, peaceful and very unique. We loved the hot tub and the game room. The river flowing through the backyard is awesome. The house was clean and in great condition. It was very cold when we arrived the first night (55 degrees in the house) and the windows were very difficult to lock, but other than that, we loved our stay!

We had a long weekend family trip planned and this house was great for the whole family. The kids loved the game room and especially the pool table and we all got use from the hot tub and sauna as well. The property was in a very quiet peaceful area right on the river, but still a quick drive into downtown Traverse City.

A Heavenly retreat!

We spent 2 weeks at this amazing home on one of my favorite rivers! We had a mix of kids and grandkids the first week and just my wife and I alone for the second week. Plenty of places to be off by yourself, or with the whole clan. I work remotely so there were times when I really appreciated having a separate area for work and talking with clients etc while not having to tell everyone to keep it down because there is so much for everyone to do! Beautiful home, we could see ourselves renting another couple weeks in the future! Our family was extremely happy with the place!

Beautiful Vacaay Spot

The house is beautiful. Nice big bedrooms on the main floor was a must for us and our son who uses a wheelchair. Loved the view of the river! Our plan was to tie off a tube on the river to enjoy the water but were not able to swim or do much fishing due to the swift current and cold water temperature. When we arrived Monday afternoon we found that someone had placed the garbage at the end of the driveway. We are assuming it should have been placed at the end of the road? The paperwork said to take the garbage out onTuesday but considering we did not arrive until Monday we did not have much garbage to deal with yet. We took care of our own because we didn't have a garbage bin. The game room had a strong odor that overwhelmed some of us even after airing it out for a long time. We all love playing pool and enjoyed the table. It would have been much better if the room had been organized differently and not used as a storage place for the inner tubes. Removing the large bowling game, which didn't work, would give the game room much more space for a group of people to gather. The house was clean with the exception of the ceiling fans and some light fixtures being dusty. The ice machined on the house fridge did not work and the sliding doors need some attention. The screen on the riverside door kept falling off the track. We weren't sure how or if the sauna worked so we never used it, however, the hot tub was great! All in all it was a really nice vacation home and I would recommend this place to others. Simple fixes would make an excellent place to stay!

This house was amazing. Everything you needed was included..even a canoe! Super clean and inviting. My family and I enjoyed the fire pit area. I enjoyed the huge hot tub. The fireplace broke but they came out immediately to fix. Highly recommend and will definitely check out other their other properties to stay. You won't be disappointed

peaceful home away from the noise

Our family really enjoyed this home for our mid-winter break vacation. 20 minutes to the ski resort, and an hour away from sledding on Sleeping Bear Dunes, one of our favorite activities. 15 minutes into town where there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy. The property was very clean and well maintained. It's a wonderful place to get away and unplug from the craziness of life. The property was clean beautifully decorated. It was nice to have the gameroom with the pool table. As a side note, the gameroom is in an adjacent building, not connected to the main home, but there was no issue with that. The gameroom doesn't have central heating, so in the winter it was a bit cold, but a space heater was provided, which was nice. Overall, we had a great time here and would recommend.

This rental exceeded our expectations. The pictures really did t do it justice. Clean, quiet, all the amenities you need to never even leave. Beds were pretty comfortable, kitchen was awesome to cook in, plenty of seating and we used both indoor and outdoor eating areas. The spa was by far our favorite and big enough that we could float around on swim tube's. TV was nice in the evening and what a clear picture! Lots of wildlife to see. We were able to hang out in the game room, listen to their stereo, and play pool and enjoy drinks. The fire pit was nice and sandy and the chairs were super comfy, we cooked hot dogs and enjoyed watching the river. The fireplace did not work and the owner came right out and had a repair service fix it 1st day, so we were able to use it our whole stay and it was so enjoyable for cooler days. Their customer service is fantastic....always very nice when talking to us. Also, they offered us tickets for a firework show because they heard it was 2 of our birthdays! If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a luxury feel place then this place is it. The only thing that would help would be written instructions for the sauna and make sure batteries are changed in all the remotes. Thanks Up North Vacation Rentals for the great getaway!

Quiet & Relaxing Vacation on the Boardman River

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Slice of River Life. The home is very comfortable with everything we could have possibly needed. The description and photos of the property are accurate. We had a blast playing pool and creating games on the putting green. Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish...only a pair of old glasses; but, it was sure fun and peaceful to on the river. The location of the home is terrific. You are close enough to restaurants, shopping, wineries, and attractions; but, you get to come home to a secluded, quiet, and relaxing space to recharge for the next day. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Slice of River fun Traverse City family vacation!

This property was convenient to many nearby Traverse City, Michigan attractions and located alongside the Boardman river for easy access to fishing, tubing and other water sports. Tubes were not provided as may appear in the photos. A small putting green is also a fun addition to the property although putters and balls are also not provided. The swim spa and sauna are a bonus. The property was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. There is a separate detached game room with pool table and dart board. It was a great touch down space for a fun family vacation. There are a few minor maintenance issues with the ice maker and water filter but overall nothing that was any great inconvenience.
