On Belanger Pond is a charming cottage in a storybook-like setting. This property is located north of Suttons Bay and is next to a large pond. It sleeps 6 people and has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

There is a bedroom on the main floor, and the upper bedroom is in the loft. The cozy living room is off the kitchen and a large enclosed porch faces south over the pond. Mornings are beautiful on the porch with birdsong and a cool breeze.

This property is a photographer's dream. It is a magical spot with gorgeous landscaping and a serene setting. Enjoy a fire in the provided fire pit. There is a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking on a splendid summer evening.

This is a great location to enjoy everything in Leelanau County. Stop at some of the wineries, Leelanau Sands Casino, the vintage Bay Theater, or one of the great local restaurants. The house is 20 miles from Traverse City.

Perfect for us. Watching the Herons and other birds feeding on the pond each morning was a treat. Cooling off on the porch each evening was relaxing. The location was great:15 minutes or less to any destination on the northern half of the peninsula.

Charming cottage in a beautiful setting!

This charming cozy cottage was immaculate and very comfortable for our weekend getaway to northern MI. Although the cottage is located steps away from M-22, it is quiet and serene, with picturesque scenery of Belanger Pond from the deck and 3-season porch where we enjoyed viewing birds, ducks, and geese, and even spotted an eagle circling over the bay across the street. Located 3 miles north of Suttons Bay and 20 minutes south of Northport, it's the perfect location for exploring both the natural (hiking, biking, beaches, etc.) and retail (wineries, distilleries, restaurants, shops, etc.) attractions of the peninsula.

We loved Belanger Pond...our main interest was bicycling and this wonderful cottage is ideally situated to benefit from many great rides in the region. The facilities are not modern...but who cares? You are up North and are well supplied with all that is necessary including a washer , dryer. Such a nice place. We stayed 5 nights and ate prepared every meal in the more than adequate kitchen. After long days of riding, this place was ideal to relax and recoup. There is a TV but the porch and patio are so pleasant, we never turned it on.....loved the place. Though we needed nothing, we felt the management team was right there for us. Great vacation.

Loved the Belanger Pond cottage, which was located right on M22 just 2ish miles north of downtown Suttons Bay. My mother and I enjoyed the French shabby chic feel of the place, and loved sitting on the porch and patio to enjoy the serene pond view. A great place to rest after many hikes and wine tastings. You even get a few peeks of the big lake from the porch and upstairs bedroom!Yes, you get some traffic noise as you are close to the road, but it's really only busy in the morning and early evening -- didn't bother us. I would say the only con is the well water (typical for when you're outside city limits up north), but we bought a water jug for drinking water and it was absolutely fine! Visit Up North also promptly replaced a coffee pot that was not working well with a new one which we really appreciated. A great stay and I'd love to return!

The perfect little house for a Northern getaway. The place is so cute and cozy and perfectly located to visit various towns. The front of the cottage is on a main road but the side/back makes you feel like you are On Golden Pond. We took our mother for a weekend getaway and visited Fishtown, breweries and Traverse City. Everything was exactly what we were hoping. We will be back!

Cozy, clean cottage get-away

It was a super cute older cottage like rental with lots of space to spread out. LOVED the outdoor deck space and enclosed porch (in case bugs/mosquitoes-which we didn't have). We had 4 adults and the one bathroom worked well. The 2nd bedrooms which is upstairs has a tight/lower ceiling at the top, so beware if you are taller (I am only 5'9" and I hit my head more than once). Also, no rails so if you're unsteady or have issues with balance, I would suggest staying on the main floor. It is right NEXT to the busy road which noisy at times, so also be aware of this; We saw this in the review, but didn't think it about it until after we heard the cars go by.

Loved the property! We loved having our morning coffee either on the deck or by the pond watching the wildlife. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfy. Just a reminder when you rent, the attic is hot and it has well water. All you need to do is dress according and use the fans provided (that was a plus!) and bring bottle water. We would definitely stay again. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

1. Location- Pros-Nice area, safe, close to everything, beautiful back enclosed porch to eat breakfast or dinner. Close to casino.Cons: The house sits on a very busy road, you can hear the traffic. 2. House-Pros- Clean, firepit was nice, plenty of firewood to burn. Decorated nicely. Heat works great.Cons: If you like to watch TV, this is not a place for you to stay. The TV was smaller than my computer screen. We did not go to Michigan to watch TV. We had one day when it rained, they had a scrabble game we played for hours. The upstairs floor creeks but that goes with the history of the home. The access to the home was a key that was in a lockbox. If you lose the key per upnothvacations you have to contact a locksmith. In my opinion the owner needs to put in a keycode entry into the cottage. We were very afraid of losing that key. I know they want to keep the historical value of the home but with a rental it's more practical. The property management company sends plenty of emails regarding rules, regulations and expectations. I did leave a ring and necklace at the property and called them. Housekeeping turned it in. They have a $25.00 charge plus shipping charges which was in the contract. I had to call 4 times and send 2 emails regarding information of when it was going to be mailed. The timing was not exactly quick (10 days) from checkout to get in the mail. My expectation was not next day air but correspondence could have been better.

Wedding weekend

We stayed at On Belanger Pond while in Suttons Bay for a wedding. We added a few days to the trip to squeeze in some golf and winery tours. The location was very convenient, and the cottage was very clean. The living space was a little sparse, not somewhere we could have stayed in to watch movies, etc. But, we were there to enjoy the local activities, so it didn't really matter to us. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and great place.

This cottage met our needs perfectly as it was very pet friendly for our bird dog. We were up and out early every morning, and afternoons on the deck were perfect to relax. Very convenient to Suttons Bay restaurants. Caught salmon with Ben Wolfe of Sportfish Michigan and no problem utilizing the kitchen to cook some up. Only glitch was coffee makers (2) did not work. Wasn't much of an issue

Mother Daughter Getaway

What a delight it was to stay a few days at this charming cottage on Belanger Pond. As for cleanliness, it was spotless! The grounds are very well maintained. We could have spent hours watching the wildlife at the pond. This was just what we were looking for on our girls getaway. Would I come with my husband? No. He would want more comfy furniture for watching TV in the evening or a nap on the sofa on a rainy day. If you have back issues the sofa in this cottage is not your friend. It wasn't an issue for my daughter and I as we were out and about or relaxing on the sun porch. If your looking for a charming spot for some girl time, this is it!

There was so much close at hand to explore and experience, from Lighthouses, hiking trails and shopping. Dining out was delicious andCovid friendly. This was our 2nd Girl's Wine Weekend. My 4 girls come for a long weekend and I stay the entire week. We have stayed here for two years. It's absolutely perfect for the 5 of us and a perfect location to hit the wineries. Highly recommend The Knot Restaurant in Omena, always good. It's a busy road but you really don't notice it and you don't really have neighbors. Beautiful with the pond, Fall colors and the Bay. Love working with Visit Up North, wouldn't use anyone else.

We truly enjoyed our stay. It is indeed a cozy cottage. I would strongly recommend that the owners update the shower head. There are only a few openings for the water, resulting in a "power-wash" feel. It's actually painful.

Beautiful Week Up North in October

The house is so cute, perfect size and location to everything without being right in the city. The pond is nice and you can see Traverse Bay through the fall foliage. The road is busy but if you have music or TV on you really don't notice it. The upstairs bedroom was so large we put two queen air mattresses in there so everyone had their own bed. This was our first "Girls Weekend" and we are already booked to go back next year. Thank you to the owners, loved it!

We enjoyed the cozy shabby chic cottage. It was centrally located for our needs but very close to a busy road. The property was beautiful with the pond right there. It had a lovely little screened in porch and deck to admire the pond. It was wonderful that we were allowed to have our little dog with us. One of the main reasons we chose that property. We would stay there again.

Utterly lovely cottage. Supremely clean, great layout for a family. Beautiful views from every window. Yes, there is traffic noise, it is close to the main road. Management company called to check on things, much appreciated. We would suggest having a better stocked kitchen for general cooking (measuring cups, cookie sheet, few more glasses and cups. plates were not microwave safe) We will go back.

At first, we had secured a totally different spot for our stay in Suttons Bay. It was charming, beautiful, and quite picturesque. However, we weren't comfortable. Up North vacation Rentals helped us find another place that suited of "comfort" needs, plus put us near all the activities we were looking for in the area. They couldn't have been more accommodating, and I would recommend UNVR to anyone.

Relaxing and much needed. Location is great! Minute from downtown Suttons Bay. Locks on door take some getting use to and would recommend owners placing replacing bulbs at both doors going outside. I was very dark and hard to see at night. Other than that house was charming and cozy. If you have dogs beware it sits on a fairly busy road.

This cottage is BEAUTIFULLY decorated with comfy beds and furnishings. Located just across the street from Lake Michigan it feels secluded next to a pond with large yard surrounding it. This was an absolutely adorable cottage. Very quaint! I wish we were there in warmer weather so we could have taken advantage of the screened in porch. One thing to be careful of, watch your head walking upstairs. The ceiling is sloped and I bumped my head a couple times. Great location, just couple miles north of Suttons Bay.
