This is the way to spend some vacation time! This charming four-bedroom red bungalow is located in the heart of Northport. This friendly village offers everything just outside the door. The bakery, shopping, beaches, and marina are all a short walk away.

3 bedrooms and one and a half baths are on the upper level. The master bedroom and attached full bath are new. There are twin beds in the second bedroom and a full bed in the third. On the main level, you will find a comfortable living room with plenty of seating. Amenities include a smart TV/Internet. The Kitchen is off the living room area. The first floor has another bedroom with a queen and a full bathroom. There is a first-floor laundry and sitting area with a loveseat hideaway bed. This home can sleep up to 10 people.

There is a nice big yard outside that walks out to the lanai. It is a wonderful space to chill out, have dinner, or have morning coffee. A charcoal grill is included.

Northport is about 40 minutes north of Traverse City and offers shopping, dining, and summer music and festivals. It is also 20 minutes from Suttons Bay and Leland. There are so many trails to hike, lakes to swim in, stars to gaze at, and memories to be made.

Central air conditioning is provided. Sheets and towels are provided. No smoking.

Your well-mannered dog is welcome (sorry no cats), with a fee and signing the pet form!

As always, we had a wonderful stay at Northport Hideaway. We love being walking distance to the village as well as convenient to get to nearby towns and the water. The house was in great condition. Everything we needed to eat at home was provided. Just a couple recommendations, new shower curtains, and more thorough dusting. The window blinds and lamps We’re very dusty as well as the air return vent behind the console table where the TV is. We love staying there and look forward to our next visit.

The house is great for a family vacation. It has Wi-Fi and AC, plus a TV you can use your own streaming services on. We love being able to walk around town and the harbor and beach. My only complaint this year is that the renters before us didn’t take the garbage can out and left it full of stinky trash. There were maggots in it. I think the cleaning crew should check that before the next renters arrive.

We selected the Northport Village Hideaway because we knew past owners (owning 1960-2000), friends of our family (who have since passed away)! The home has been renovated in many ways which included adding a large upstairs master and full bath and outside deck area and improving the basement! I was thrilled to see that the floors still have that little uneven slope! We always laughed about that as kids! As a teenager, I wallpapered and painted the 2 small bedrooms upstairs! The home is very tastefully decorated with a nautical theme and had a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals! I grew up spending summers in Northport with my family owning a log cabin cottage on North Shore Drive where the road turns to gravel on the water for 50 years. We sold this property (darn!) after my father passed away. The Hideaway is centrally located to walk to The Mitten, North Creek Golf Course, all the shopping downtown, Barb's, the harbor, Tom's Market and the Lake! We re-visited many places--Kehl Lake for hiking, Christmas Cove, Peterson Park and a few secret places that only our family knows about! Saw about 50 deer on drives right before sunset. Northport is a great Village and fun to go exploring! We hope to be back soon and we would definitely stay at this home!

This year the improved WiFi, new dishwasher and outside steps were great improvements (hope a hand rail will be added)! Not so much the new Roku TV. Needed a subscription or were stuck watching reruns on the free channels. No local news or network TV. But we will be back!

We had another great stay here with our friends (4 parents, 4 kids). We love being right in the village and the house is lovely, beds are comfortable, plenty of blankets and towels. The kitchen is well-appointed and it was very clean upon arrival. The art in the house is awesome as well and the work in the gardens continues to make the house more beautiful. Just a couple of things to note, 100% in the context of the fact that we absolutely plan to rent this cottage again. First, obviously not the owner's fault, maybe more aimed at future renters, but when we got there, the previous renters had clearly given their dog free run of the yard and not cleaned up after them. Second, it would be awesome to have a little outdoor fire pit for those who like to sit by the fire at night. Finally, the trash situation is not ideal - they do a Thursday pick up, but since the cottage turns over on Sunday, it was already full when we got there. The notes let you know that the trash service is picky about extra bags outside of the can, but it creates a situation where you need to get the rental company to come out and pick up the trash - they were great about doing so and we appreciated it, but it seems like there could be a better system. Overall though, great stay!

Overall, our stay was very good. The property's location in downtown Northport is excellent. Everything is within walking distance. The property was clean. There are several items that the property owner should address. In the master bedroom the ceiling light doesn't work. In fact, when entering the room when it is dark, there are no light switches to turn on lights. The master bedroom should have a ceiling fan installed w/a light as the other 3 bedrooms currently have. The bedroom upstairs with the two twin beds has no HVAC vent which makes the room very stuffy. Finally, there are several windows that are inoperable. Some of these items are potential safety code violations that should be addressed promptly.

A true hideaway in a quaint village

Spent 4 nights with our 3 married adult kids, grandson, and pooches and this home exceeded our expectations. First, location location location. Such convenience to the charming village of Northport and it's shops and marina/waterfront as well as the entire peninsula. Second, plenty of room to spread out in comfortable rooms and public areas and a good size kitchen (a bit lacking in counter space, but had all the amenities including a dishwasher). The outdoor covered porch was a great place for our meals. Third, the home was clean, and the extra bathroom was nice. It has obviously been recently redecorated and a nice expansion (master bath and bedroom upstairs). AC was also nice as one of the nights did get warm. Comfortable furnishings. We appreciated the owners allowing pets! Despite being in the village, the property was very private and quiet--a peaceful getaway with a variety of day trips possible for those wanting to explore. The Mitten micro brewery is just around the corner and there is a grocery store just across the street--handy for eating meals in!

A very cozy and comfortable home! Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. This was the perfect place for friends to stay for a wedding in Northport!The WiFi listed in the welcome book did not work, however. Also, the lockbox seemed to be broken. It was unlocked when we arrived and wouldn’t lock when we left.

I enjoyed our time up there over Memorial Day weekend, it was a little cold but wonderful weather. The house was a perfect location for Barb's Bakery and Tribune for breakfast! The only complaint was the lack of airflow in the house. It has AC but at night it can get warm in the bedrooms, especially the upstairs. There are ceiling fans but you're best bet is to sleep with the door open to stay cool.

This is a super cute house that is in a fabulous location in the heart of Northport but just off the main road so there is no noise, just the babbling of a little brook to lull you to sleep at night. The house had everything we needed. The downstairs bedroom is quite small and so there is just barely room to walk around the queen bed and not much room to put our stuff but that didn't really bother us as we were only there for 3 nights. We had six people (three couples) and it was plenty roomy enough as we were not really hanging around the house much at all. It would be nice if all 6 of us had a comfy spot to sit in but the couches in the living room only hold 4. Still, there's a nice couch in a small room off the kitchen which was a lovely place to get away from it all and read a book in the sunlight. It was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to walk to all the restaurants, shops and marina within just a few steps of the house.

Northport Village Hideaway

Our extended family stayed at Northport Village Hideaway in late June and despite an early hiccup, really enjoyed our stay.The best aspect of this house is the location, right near the downtown area. Literally steps away from restaurants, groceries, bakery, swimming etc. Even so, the lot is private and very quiet. We also really enjoyed the covered lanai in the back yard. This was a place big enough for all six of us to hang out in the evenings.The interior is somewhat small, but functional and clean and in good shape. Our group was expecting a fire pit on the property, but this was apparently removed. The management company did respond promptly to our call and did what they could to rectify the situation. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

We rented the Northport hideaway for a week in June. It was perfect! Clean, comfortable and updated, but still with loads of charm. It was nice to be in town but still on a private, quiet street. Loved walking to the marina and restaurants. At night, the stars are incredible!
