This lovely log home on Lake Bellaire offers a peaceful escape, with the lake sparkling beautifully amid northwest Michigan’s gorgeous countryside. Loons Landing comfortably welcomes up to six guests with its three cozy bedrooms and a friendly bathroom.
Inside, you'll find a well-equipped open-concept kitchen that seamlessly connects to the inviting living and dining areas, making meal prep and gathering together a breeze. Decorated with charming "Up North" touches, this Northern Michigan retreat exudes warmth and character. The living room, featuring a cozy gas fireplace, is perfect for relaxing and unwinding.
Step outside onto the welcoming covered porch to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Use the provided charcoal grill as you listen to the gentle calls of loons over the water. In the summer, gather around the fire pit, enjoy a picnic at the table, or have fun with the tree swing—there's plenty to enjoy! A lovely boardwalk winds through the wetland to reach the water, adding to the rustic charm.
Lake Bellaire sits just east of Lake Michigan, offering all-sport fun with swimming, boating, kayaking, water-skiing, fishing, and more. As part of the Elk River Watershed Chain of Lakes, it’s known as a true "Fisherman’s Paradise.”
Plus, it’s a simple drive to charming towns like Alden and Bellaire, where you can enjoy delicious meals, pick up groceries, or browse unique local shops around the lakes.

Very cute and charming cabin snuggled in the woods on the lake. Have to walk down the boardwalk to see the lake, but still worth the time staying here. Cabin is decorated nicely and is very comfortable. Only recommendation would be to change out the door pad with key inside to a keyless door pad for easier access. It was difficult to open and put back into place. Also, would recommend placing mirrors in each room as there is only one bathroom. Rental property communicated very well with me, Excellent customer service. Neighbors are on both sides, but area is very quiet and really enjoyed the firepit. Could see next door at their firepit, but overall, it did impact our enjoyment what so ever. would definitely rent again!

Had a great stay. It did happen to be one of the hottest weeks of the summer, so it was a little tough without a window ac unit...but it was stated in the description that we wouldn't have one.The setting was beautiful. The house was very clean. Would stay again.

Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin. It is in a very nice wood location yet also on the water. This end of Lake Bellaire was very quite. Nice place for quite enjoyment of the outdoors yet close enough to multiple towns for fun and good food. Our stay would have been more enjoyable if the dock had been put out for us. My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was so low it barely rinsed the soap off. Also, watch out for fees - they essentially double the nightly rental cost - $191 to $382 per night.

The cabin met all our expectations for our mini vacation. Loved the dock in the backyard on Lake Belleaire. It was within a close proximity of Torch Lake, the brewery and the grocery store. Very minor cleanliness issue was there were quite a few scuffs on one of the bedroom walls and the refrigerator door had a shelf with a bar that is on the verge of breaking so we avoided storing anything there. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back.

Perfect getaway location on quiet Lake Bellaire. Very close proximity to multiple lakes and towns to visit and explore. Perfect spot to unwind and detach. Hunting for Petoskey stones on the shores of Lake Michigan became our go to activity. Highly recommend a trip up to Charlevoix. The 4 days we spent wasn’t enough!

I was a little concerned because some of the other reviews mentioned it being dirty but we didn't find that to be the case. It was fine. The shower is a pretty dated and the water pressure leaves much to be desired but the beds were comfy. Loved being able to be on the water but it is a little bit of a hike from the cabin to the actual lake but the dock is great. It is mucky around the dock and there's no beach but if you have a boat you can drive over to the Grass River sandbar pretty quickly. All in all, we thought it was perfectly fine for the amount we paid. Loved having 3 bedrooms.

We were very impressed with the location, the cabin itself, the lake, etc. Visit Up North staff and service is wonderful! The privacy and location was wonderful. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything worked well (except the wi-fi was glitchy). Our only minor concern was the cleanliness was not quite as good as we expected. There was old food in the cupboard opened and bitten into (a nutty bar). Although we could tell that the cabin was "cleaned" it wasn't deep cleaned as we found an old pair of socks under the couch, dust in corners that had been there a while, etc. Overall we loved our rental and location, but the cleanliness was a bit disappointing for the cost of the 6 nights.

The cabin was fine. The walk to the lake is a little bit when your carrying heavy coolers and items to load on the boat. We ran into a few issues but the rental company was quick to respond and fix the problem. The cabin was clean and well maintained. My biggest complaint is that the beds are awful. They are super soft and you roll to the middle so trying to share a bed is difficult. We ended up using a blow up and sleeping on the couch so we didn't have to share beds. NOTE- if you are taking a boat the driveway is super narrow and larger boats will not fit nor will they clear the power lines. Also the lake bottom is super mucky so we had to tie the boats to the dock as once my son jumped in to tie up to the anchors and he sunk in the muck none of the rest of us would get in. The view on the lake is beautiful and the boat ride from Lake Bellaire to Torch lake is a beautiful ride. Plan for time to get there as the river will take about 40 minutes to get through but is so pretty. Overall the stay was fine.

The property was well represented on the rental page and there weren't too many surprises. The childrens swing pictured was unfortunately not hung up, it appears as though perhaps it had recently become damaged and they removed it before it became a safety concern. The stay was very relaxing and the cabin was cozy, but there were quite a bit of dust and cobwebs as though it hadnt had a deep cleaning in awhile.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Loons Landing over the 2015 Memorial Day Holiday weekend. The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals, have bon fires and access the lake with our kayaks. We even tried out the row boat and the canoe provided. The lake was not busy with motorized boat traffic and we were able to see snapping turtles and a couple of loons! If you are interested in a getaway to northern Michigan, I recommend staying at Loons Landing.

We really enjoyed this property. The cabin was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The lake was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was nice to have the rowboat for fishing. Bellaire was close by and a nice little town. Good restaurants and shops. Traverse City was not far away and easy to get to. Charlevoix was also close by and was not someplace we had been to before. The Apple Fest was very nice and the Friske Orchard and Farm Market should not be missed.There were a couple of small maintenance issue with the cabin, four burnt out lights with no replacement bulbs available, smoke detector battery was low with no replacement battery available ( so had to listen to the beeping last night there) and the dining room light fixture stopped working. Could not find the breaker box to see if that was the issue. Overall a great stay, would recommend to others.
