4 Bedrooms

A delightful location in the historic Village of Omena, Lavender Lane is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that welcomes up to eight guests. It is immediately across the street from 140’ of beautiful private beach. Offering comfortable lodging and room to spread out, the cozy living room overlooks Omena Bay. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided. The kitchen is spacious and nicely appointed with all updated appliances, including a dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer.

One bedroom is located on the main level and three bedrooms are on the upper level; the bedrooms provide 1-king bed, 2-queen beds, 1-twin, and a trundle. All bed linens and towels are included. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and window air conditioners in some rooms as well. There is one in an upstairs bedroom, dining room, and in the lower bedroom.

The wonderful beach is where you can enjoy sunshine-filled days and fireside fun at night. In addition to a side deck, a small courtyard with a patio behind the house offers a nice private spot to grill and unwind. The house is within walking distance of Knot Just A Bar for beautiful and rare waterfront dining; the Leelanau Peninsula Winery Tasting Room, Tamarack Gallery (a Midwest premier gallery), and the local corner convenience store. Lavender Lane is sure to delight everyone.

Omena is halfway between Suttons Bay and Northport – either is just six miles away. The charming town of Leland is eleven miles away and Sleeping Bear Dunes is less than an hour's distance. These nearby small towns offer shopping, art galleries, museums, a movie theater, dining, breweries, and wineries. Leelanau Sands Casino is just a short drive south. There are miles of hiking trails throughout the county. You can enjoy farm markets in Suttons Bay, Northport, and Leland.

One well-mannered dog is welcome, and owners must clean up after their pets.

The house was wonderful and suited our needs in terms of rooms, space, outdoor functionality, proximity to beach, etc. It was well-stocked—missing a few kitchen essentials (flipper utensil—I used a spatula for pancakes and a fork for burgers as well as baking sheets for the oven) but otherwise had mostly everything we needed. Driving is faster than I would like along Omena Blvd where we had to cross for the beach but we adjusted rather quickly. The neighborhood is lovely and we enjoyed several walks, runs, and scooter rides. The listing says all towels are included but the email with info (sent the day prior when it may be a bit too late for those traveling prior to arrival) stated there were no beach towels. We had to pay $30 for 2 beach towels at the country store—but that accessibility to the country store is another big bonus for forgotten items, staples, snacks, and drinks. Another suggestion is to do a bug treatment: ear wigs, ants, and some gnat type bugs were inside and the yard is pretty thick with mosquitoes. We make an annual trip along the west arm every year (10 years now) and enjoyed the beach, waterfront deck, and water here immensely. Overall we loved our stay.

The best stay in Omena -- RIGHT on Omena Bay. The house is gorgeous and spacious -- lots of great amenities inside including washer/dryer. Private beach across the street with loungers and chairs and fire pit. Beds and bedding were very comfortable and a great surprise was the AC window units in every room keeping everything cool especially for sleep. Wi-Fi was very strong! Will 100% be back and will tell friends about Lavender Lane!

There are two aspects in renting. One is the home and the other is the agency handling the property. The pictures of the home really don't show how nice the property is. Everything is well thought out in creating a nice space from the floors, appliances, furniture and decorations. I have stayed in many rentals and this is definitely at the top, thus the 5 rating. The rental agency on a 1 to 5 rating gets a 5++++ in my book. Initially they were quick to respond to a question. In all the years I have done VRBO's I Have never had an agent call me to see if all is okay. This agency called me twice and emailed me several times to make sure all is okay. Kudo's to them. They have set a very high bar.

This was our second year staying at Lavender Lane and it was again excellent. We appreciated the updated bathroom vanities and 2d floor flooring and the house was very clean when we arrived. The location is convenient for us and we very much enjoyed sitting on the front porch or private beach with our morning coffee or to watch the moon over beautiful Omena Bay. So nice to return to an area we have known and loved for years.

Lavender Lane was amazing and perfect for our Girl's Getaway! The house was great, very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We also loved the private beach and spent a lot of time down by the water enjoying the view. The location is perfect and is just a short drive from Sutton's Bay or up to Northport (also the drive up from downtown is beautiful).

We enjoyed our stay in Omena. The beach was beautiful. The chairs and fire pit on the beach were wonderful. The house was great. I would recommend ceiling fans in every room as it can be warm in the afternoon and evening. One disappoint. On the first day of our stay (Friday) we noticed a significant gas smell in the first floor room containing the hot water heater. We reported it promptly. The recommendation was to open the window. We were very disappointed that this issue was not addressed during our 4 day stay.

Nice location in the quiet town of Omena with a private beach just across the street. The house was clean and the kitchen well equipped. It was nice to walk down to Knot your Bar for a fish kone, as well as to visit the Leelanau tasting room. My dog and I enjoyed walking along the quiet road along Lake Michigan both morning and evening. The club chairs in the living room were quite comfortable and the view from the living room was wonderful. We enjoyed a campfire at the private beach one evening although the fire pit is nearing the end of its life.

Loved the location - beautiful view and close to the water with great deck and chairs. Also a tasting room and great restaurant just steps away. A few feet from M22, which is handy, but if you are sensitive to traffic noise, may not be the best place for you. Also, there is a public beach right next door, but otherwise can’t beat the location - wonderful back roads for walking and biking and in a sheltered cove in the bay. Inside clean and comfortable but needs a new coffeemaker (easy fix). Actually good Wi-fi! So appreciated that pets were allowed!

We loved lavender lane!! The house was clean, the beds were comfy, and we had all we needed! The washer/dryer were a plus! The view was breath taking and relaxing was easy!The road we were off of was so busy and cars drove fast down the road as it would be smart to have a speed bump or stop sign. We were more on edge with all the little ones we had!! Also the second bedroom upstairs did not have a window unit like the others did! Other than that our stay was amazing!!
