Experience Lake Michigan like as never before at this quaint cabin tucked in the woods on miles of pristine Lake Michigan. Imagine waking up in the morning to the sound of Lake Michigan, the call of birds, fresh, clean air... ahh, the good life. Good Morning Arcadia is small but offers cozy lodging. Very quiet and private location. Due to changing water levels, shoreline is not guaranteed. Lake access stairs on the north side of the property.
One flight of stairs up to the main level of the house. Faces west for breathtaking sunsets. 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom await. Allows up to 4 people.
A Full kitchen (no dishwasher)is stocked with the necessities. One of the bedrooms boasts a sliding door to the deck for great views and the sound of the lake. Cable HD flat panel TV/DVD/WIFI are included. Washer/dryer available in the lower-level laundry room. If the weather is a little too warm, there are fans in each room. Typically, the breeze off Lake Michigan can keep you cool and comfortable.
Savor the big deck off the living room with stunning views of the lake. Enjoy outdoor grilling on the charcoal grill.
The sunsets here are amazing and not to be missed. Night skies are breathtaking. For golf lovers, Arcadia Bluffs is just 3.5 miles away. Nature trails, dunes, and an amazing scenic overlook are also close. Make sure to explore the quaint towns of Arcadia, Frankfort, and Onekama. Manistee is 23 miles away. Arcadia Beach and Veterans Memorial are just minutes from the cottage. It is a beautiful drive north on M-22 to reach the Baldy Dunes or Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Pets allowed. (2 dogs maximum) Please be sure to clean up after your pup.
Check out great hiking and some mountain biking trails at Overlook Trail, Baldy Trail, Pete's Woods, Chestnut Trail, and Dry Hill Trail.

This rental is situated on a beautiful part of the Lake Michigan shore, tucked away in a quiet area but close to great outdoor exploration. Beautiful and quiet forest surroundings, sandy beach just steps from the house, and great nearby hiking at Arcadia Marsh and CS Mott Nature Preserve. Would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful and secluded place to stay on Lake Michigan. The property description and photos show it well. Clean and well-maintained with good customer service. Spacious deck and beach walking area. Not far from many nice restaurants in the Frankfort area. Food trucks And ice cream shop in Arcadia were very close and wonderful. Super cute & cozy. Perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Heavily wooded. Stunning Lake Michigan views, perfect private beach, night sky is breathtaking. We slept great. Kitchen has what you need, however, we treated it like a camping trip & brought along extra dish towels, soap, foil, blankets, pillows etc. Would recommend more outdoor seating as it was minimal. However we used the beach chairs that we brought. 10 miles to Onekema or Frankfort for groceries. Plenty of board games and DVD’s. We personally enjoyed the bookcase with vintage books. Would definitely stay again. Perfect spot to relax & regroup!! :) Also, surprisingly, the mosquito’s �� were not bad at all, probably the freshest air I have breathed in a long time.

This is our third or fourth time staying here. We expect a rough cottage feel, which we are okay with. This time we were surprised that it was not clean. We love that the rental accepts dogs and do not mind paying the additional cleaning fee. However, we expect the cleaning fee will be used for--well, extra cleaning! We always bring sheets to cover furniture so our dogs don't get their hair everywhere. While washing the dog sheets, I flipped up the cushions to the couch so they would not jump up on it. Lots of sand and dog hair under the cushions. The floors were dirty. For example, I moved the little couch in the main living area to get at some kibble I had spilled. Wow! I'm sure the floor under it had not been cleaned in a while. I swept up beer bottle tops left by previous guests. I cleaned two of the burners on the stovetop because I did not think they were useable as I found them. The oven is filthy. The grill is filthy. I tried to clean the mold/mildew from around the bathroom sink fixtures but did not have the correct cleaning products. The toaster was broken and some lights did not work. This property needs more cleaning and general maintenance. On a positive note, the property management company was, as always, very responsive.

Our 3rd time staying here. Love the place but the kitchen is very under equipped. The toaster does not work. It doesn't have basic things like measuring cups, measuring spoons, small pots or pans, Wisk, casserole dish, etc. A few of the pans are worn out and just need to be thrown away. Fine if you are eating out but made it hard to cook.

This is our second time staying here and it is hands down one of our favorite places to stay. It is small, it may even be a bit funky, but to us it’s perfect. Good for 3, great for 2, too small for four, this mid-century box on stilts, with many original features has the most amazing views. Wake up to the lake l, go to sleep under the stars. The lake MI views are just breathtaking. And the beach is great too. It’s comfortable and has all you need in a quaint, comfy space.

Good Morning Arcadia is amazing! It had everything we needed. A million dollar view and a comfortable home. We took our 2 small dogs and they loved it too. We went to Stormcloud Brewery in Frankfort which was dog friendly. For dinner we went to The Roadhouse in Beulah.

What a gem we stumbled upon! Literally booked this the day before arrival when we realized what a warm, sunny weekend we were in store for. The cottage is absolutely perfect in every way. I just love an old cabin feel and the BEACH! The cottage had everything we needed including very strong internet (we worked a half day Friday) and really great tasting tap water (no need for bottled here)! We appreciated that this place was dog friendly, thank you for that!We spent a lot of time on the deck and beach enjoying the view. We also golfed Arcadia bluffs, hiked and biked the local trails (epic views). Tried out some local restaurants, wineries and breweries, our two favorite being Rock's Landing and 5 Shores brewing. We will DEFINATELY be back.The management company was great! Very friendly and helpful.

The sliding glass doors to the patio (the main attraction to the lake view) had dog nose prints all over them; I couldn’t find windex to clean them myself. The fridge drawer had a sticky old mess caked in it. The stove burners (drip pans) had caked on sticky residue. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, couch was sagging & uncomfortable. For the price of admission, I think you could do better than hard steel chairs & the ancient kitchen table. The views & property grounds were outstanding. It was very quiet & peaceful. We didn’t have a fire as it isn’t a proper fire pit & we deemed it unsafe to do so. For $325 a night in off-peak, the amenities were very disappointing. Some serious upgrades are in order for this price point.

The lack of good cleaning is regrettable and we apologize. We trust our housekeepers to do a good job and they did not. The couch is only 3 years old. A new queen bed will replace the full bed in 2022. We went with farmhouse metal chairs because guests kept breaking the wooden ones. The table is an antique but perhaps it is time to replace. The fire pit has been there for years without incident but do appreciate your concern, We will look at adding a fire pit ring.Would love to stay again next year!

This is our fourth stay here, and we love it. The place doesn't have a lot of amenities, but we like keeping it simple. Although need to remember a hairdryer next time! It's a perfect size for a couple, but I'm not sure where you'd put more people than that despite the second bedroom (which we usually use for our stuff since the "main" bedroom is pretty small). The living room has a loveseat and a recliner, then 4 pretty uncomfortable kitchen chairs around a small table, so I can't imagine where multiple people would lounge for an afternoon if they needed to be inside due to rain etc.. Fine with us, but might be a little close for comfort for others. The beach was there this year, although you had to scale a rope to get to it. You absolutely cannot beat the view and being able to open the door to hear the sound of the waves.

Less is More. This rental is a perfect place for those who enjoy nature, seclusion and an intimate connection with Lake Michigan. Also for those not expecting the fancy contemporary housing amenities. They aren't necessary at Good morning Arcadia. The location is it's charm. It is clean and pleasant. A few more kitchen utensils (towels, spatula's, large coffee cups) would be nice. However those are minor inconveniences. 5 star for location and it's inconspicuous charm.

We love Good Morning Arcadia. Its quiet, quaint and beautiful. My family was very happy with the updates to the property in the past few years. The trimmed trees and new deck railing were a great improvement. The beach has been greatly eroded due to lake levels, but it did not detract from our stay.

Good Morning Arcadia is the perfect spot for getting away from the rest of your life. Completely secluded, you can hear neighbors through the trees but can’t see them. Lake Michigan in all its splendor is right outside the two large sliding glass doors. The elevated deck which surrounds the cabin gives 360 degree views of the lake, woods, wildlife, sunrises, sunsets, and the stars above. No beach since Lake Michigan is at historically high levels. The house is compact but very well stocked with both consumable supplies and kitchen tools and dishes. Decor is a bit dated, but who cares when the real beauty of the place is outside. Great for 2; workable for 4; 5 means the short straw sleeps in the living/dining/kitchen space. We wish Good Morning Arcadia was for sale. We’d spend all summer there.

I love love love this location! You cannot find this location anywhere really. We stayed in September 2019 and a week in October 2019! It’s an amazing little 2 bedroom & one bath house (with heat/air conditioning & super clean water) right on the low bluffs of Lake Michigan... the views will simply melt your soul all day long, especially since the new deck has been installed (super big upgrade!) if it were for sale, we would buy it! Non-assuming and perfect. This GMA Rental was a trick to find. A (hard to spot) long two-track bumpy dirt road passing an abandoned house and a few curious deer. Nobody around. Nothing but trees, birds, squirrels and this house sitting on stilts. Plus the sound of Lake Michigan filtered through the surrounding grassy dunes.This place lacked contemporary amenities, fixtures and appliances. The decor is antiquated and simple. Yet, that is the JOY of this house. It is like comfort food, like a favorite pair of comfortable slippers, like going back to an earlier era (1969-1972) and akin to visiting a familiar good ole' friend. It was clean and tidy.The only problem was this massive view of a huge lake some 60 feet out back particularly early evening when the glaring sun bounced it's red rays off the shimmering waves (ouch). Oh, and only two people were seen (on the beach) during the entire 5 day stay (they waved). Another problem was all these colorful rocks covering large portions of the beach. Not a place for someone who needs to be surrounded by people, activities and state-of-the-art luxury. It was perfect.

The cabin does get updates every year to keep it comfortable and current. The deck was upgraded in September. A new fridge added in October 2019.(after you left) Stove, coffee pot and microwave plus basic kitchen items are all there.Most of the time a good internet signal! We hope you will visit again. Good Morning Arcadia is a typical lake cottage. It was well stocked with kitchen needs, plenty of towels, and other sundries.We loved the location. Be aware, the house is up one flight of stairs with a railing on one side but open on the other. It was fine for us but mobility challenged people may struggle with it. I have already referred others to this property as we enjoyed it so much. There is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves on the shore!

Good Morning Arcadia is a beautiful property. The beach is nothing short of outstanding. I truly love this place, I want so badly for someone to show it some love. A little attention to detail would go far with this place. The place was not as clean as it was last time we stayed. It is clear that housekeeping did a very cursory job. No one has vacuumed under the furniture or near the baseboards in a very long time. The trees on the North side of the deck need to be trimmed. They've been overgrown and laying on the deck since our last trip 2 years ago. The shower head needs to be replaced it is beginning to break and quickly drains the hot water tank as it predates water savers. A visit from an electrician to remedy broken light fixtures and switches that don't work would also be great. None of these things would keep me away from Good Morning Arcadia, I just hope to see them taken care of.

We loved this rental. Secluded and quiet. We rent in the summer so we can take our dogs. We have a golden retriever and a yellow lab, and they were in heaven playing on the beach. The neighbors that we saw (one family) were very nice and enjoyed our dogs also. They had a lab puppy who played with ours and the three of them had a blast. The cottage was clean, good water pressure and hot water. Arcadia isn't really a town, but Frankfort was nice and the cottage is close to Arcadia dunes/Sleeping bear dunes, bike trails. I took my kayak and was able to go a couple days when the waves were low. There are endless beaches to walk accessed by kayak or car if you know where to go. The only complaint I have is that there is no comfortable place to sit at night, but there is not room for any large furniture pieces. Maybe a more comfortable love seat instead of the two chairs? Or a recliner might even be better. One of the chairs was broken and they brought out a brand new chair. We have already booked next summer, that is how much we enjoyed it there.

Second time staying here within a year - it's perfect for us. More than 3 people I think might not have enough space, but with just 2 it's just right. There's just what you need, but nothing you don't, so bring along seasonings and things like that just in case. It's a little outdated, but I love the charm, and when we were there in May there was just enough beach (after a drop-off from the steps) to lay out my towel. Paradise!

We spent a perfect week here in this little cottage right on the beach. You can fall asleep to the sound of the waves and walk out of your bed onto the deck. The location is perfect, and at least this year they had enough beach to lay out your towels. The cottage is a little dated, but they're clearly making updates. The electric outlets and switches can be tricky, so watch out for that. Now, I mentioned this was perfect for 2 - it's enough space for us, but I'd hesitate with too many more people (especially on a rainy day). We used the second bedroom for storage, since we didn't want stuff underfoot and it kept things neat. If you have 1 kid (or 2 who don't mind sharing a bed), I think that would be fine, but more than that (or more than maybe 1 adult you really like) I think would make it feel like you're on top of each other. But for us, it was perfect - the trees provide seclusion and everything was lovely. I'd love to try to keep this place secret, but I have to be honest and say it's just wonderful!

Great week but so disappointed to discover on arrival that Mother Nature had eroded the beach to the point that the beach stairs had dangerously separated from top of sand embankment. Many thanks to Up North folks and Andrew the handyman for quickly repairing the stairs. Wonderful location but house could benefit from some TLC.

The location of this property was fantastic and the freedom it allows you to enjoy with your dogs is also great. Your own private beach almost. We went with young kids who also enjoyed playing and swimming at their leisure (weather permitting). The property is great location wise but has been left a little to long on the up keep. It is pretty basic and super dated with a lot of lights and sockets that don't work or might work sometimes! The right TV remote is missing so it takes a bit of effort to work and the shower curtain is not fixed to the wall so watch out for the 'fall on your head moment'. The wifi is great although all that said this is a good 'settle into a book place'. The mattress on the master bed is very tired and soft so back problems will struggle. Hooks on the wall for coats and bags and under the property for beach towels etc would be super helpful.As a guest you forgive some of the down sides due to the location but I think it would serve the owner well to improve a few things.

Overall this was a great week. The cabin was much as listing/reviews mention. Very clean, well stocked and a great location. Arcadia is a small, quiet town (no grocery or gas). But only 10 miles from Frankfort. Be sure to try Stormcloud Brewery there. Furniture/mattress could be a bit more comfortable. And better lighting would help. But not enough of an issue to stop us from coming back. We very much enjoyed our time.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Good Morning Arcadia. The house is very cool, and has a lot of near mid-century fixtures and overall feel. I wouldn't call it luxurious, but it is exactly the kind of place we like. The beach was beautiful and the views were spectacular. One of the bedrooms has a bed that looks right out at the lake. We watched the sun and moon set over lake Michigan every night. The house was very clean when we arrived. It would be perfect for a couple or a small family. If you have a pup, this house is great for them too. There is a wrap around deck, which we spent a lot of time on.The house is very private and the neighbors that we did meet were very friendly, and also liked dogs. We can't recommend this house enough, and will certainly be back.Thanks for such a wonderful experience.

Our stay at Good Morning Arcadia was outstanding. The beach was beautiful and quiet. The cabin is not updated, but it does not leave you wanting for more. We traveled with our dog, and couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy with fido. There is plenty of space for running and swimming. house was clean, a little spartan, but the fresh sheets/towels were great. Some plugs/lights inconsistent, but otherwise house was great. Access to beach needs steps since water so low. Living area furniture was uncomfortable - wouldn't be terribly expensive to get 4 decent chairs and a couch that could pull out.

This cottage was everything we were looking for. It had a stunning view, was perfectly cozy for our little family of four and had all the amenities you would expect from a seasonal cottage. Being able to walk 50 yards to the beach was great, and we were able to include our dog, which was a bonus. For the value, you won't find a better view in northern Michigan.

Classic Lake Michigan beach experience....While the home was somewhat small for our family, the location and views from the main bedroom, living room and deck couldn't be beat! Beach access was a few feet through the dunes and the beach was idyllic, with perfect sand and the ability to walk for quite a ways. We visited the nearby towns of Frankfort and Onekama, which provided great opportunity to walk around and visit the local lighthouses and attractions. We ate at Dinghy's restaurant and Papanos Pizza in Frankfort, both had great food for great prices! We have rented several homes up and down the Lake Michigan coast and this was by far the best location and had the best beach!

This house provides a perfect, private getaway spot, especially for a couple with pet(s). The house was very clean, the furnishings simple but comfortable, and the views and location exceptional. We spent part of every day on the beach with our dogs, swam the calm blue waters of Lake Michigan, and watched gorgeous sunsets from the deck. Just wonderful.A couple of issues: The trash disposal/pick-up situation is not working. When we stayed, all of the unit's trash cans were already crammed full & out on M22-200 yards or so from the house. All we could do was load our bags in the car & add them to the overflow. Not acceptable. Also, there is a board (maybe two) on the deck, lakeside, near the railing, that feels weak & "mushy" to the step. Needs to be checked & replaced.Overall, it's a nice, private house in a great location, and we've already recommended it to a couple of friends. Thanks for a great getaway.

Slow down, catch your breath, enjoy life. Just laying in bed hearing the surf or bobbing up and down on the waves you enjoy doing nothing.Miles of beach, miles of views. Quaint cottage with all you'll need. TV, Cable, Internet are provided but seldom used. Deserted beach, short easy walk from house provides your escape. Doing nothing for a week, remembering it forever. A late night storm rolls through that you can see coming from miles away, the fear of beauty. If you need to do nothing this is the nothing to do.

Our family had been looking for a beach home similar to a property we had rented in Arcadia in 2009, so imagine our delight in finding this beach property just 3 houses down the beach. Although more rustic, the location is ideal for us, quite literally "off the beaten track!" Plus, we could bring our 3 water loving dogs, so what's not to like? We love the beautiful beach and the sunsets and how secluded this area is yet still within easy driving distance of our favorite "Up North" activities. The house is spotless, and very well stocked although oven mitts, a cutting board, and a frying pan would have been great. The only misstep for us was the sewage smell that emanated from the ground around the house, and the fact that there appeared to be at least an inch of standing water in the laundry room on the ground floor. Because of the water, we never used the washer and dryer. If the sewage issues are addressed, we would definitely return next year!

The location was great. Not a lot of people on the beach and GREAT sunsets. There were many hikes nearby and great mountain biking. The "road" going in was interesting very bumpy would not recommend a low to the ground car. Overall I would recommend this property. There are a few things that may need to be need work. The electrical could be updated and more working lights. There is not any air condition even though it was listed. It is a good place for two people and a pet.

Just as isolated and secluded as we had wished for. The dishes were in need of a bit of scrubbing before we could use them but all in all the cottage was clean and in good order. We video taped the condition of everything upon our arrival and the same when we were locking up to ensure that everything was in the same condition or better than we found it. We were unsure if there was a 'designated' campfire area so we chose to skip a campfire either on the beach or in back of the cottage, though we saw evidence that others had burned wood. Wish there would have been clearer instructions on where we could have had a campfire. We brought our own pots and pans and glad we did so because their was no frying pan for bacon just one for pancakes. Lots of details were included such as binoculars, beach chairs (under the deck). We left a bit of wood for the next guests. The bed in the west-facing bedroom was very comfortable and we enjoy quite the light show while laying in bed with the curtains open while the big storm moved in. Saw only a handful of folks walking past on the beach but otherwise it was very peaceful and very quite. This was just the perfect place for solitude and relaxation. Oh, if one is driving a low sports car they may have difficulty getting down Sorrenson Road as it is really little more that an unkept 2-track with weeds two feet high. We were very cautious and very slow and made it down the road without too many scratches or damage to the undercarriage. Property managers should be way more clear about what that "road" actually is. All in all though, a delightful find and a place we will gladly return to in the future.
