Just 14 miles east of downtown Traverse City, Cozy Cottage on the Boardman River is a retreat off the beaten path. It is in a quiet area, but still close enough to lots of the region's best places. The cottage sits on 5 acres along the banks of the Boardman River, a blue-ribbon trout stream nestled deep in the woods of the Pere Marquette State Forest.
This home can accommodate 8 guests and includes 3 queen beds, 2 single beds in 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a spacious open kitchen, dining, and living area with a wood-burning fireplace. It has its own private river frontage and also adjoins state land, providing additional river frontage and hiking trails. Guests can enjoy activities such as hiking, kayaking, canoeing, inner-tubing, swimming, fishing, fly fishing, morel mushrooming, bird watching, and snowshoeing.
Located 1.8 miles from the Supply Road Snowmobile and ORV staging area and trails. It is 2 miles to the VASA Singletrack Trailhead for fat tire biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and hiking. Drive 3 miles to Ranch Rudolph horseback riding trails, and 10.2 miles to Flint Fields for the Horses by the Bay Horse Show.

Perfect way to see Michigan for a first timer. Close to TC and within driving of Sleeping Bear and Old Mission Peninsula. Bonus is the river in the back yard.

Most everything you may require was there. We had ample space for our party of six to move around, or gather and catch up. Lots of seating areas indoors and out. Nice sized kitchen to work in and continue the visit with family/friends gathered at the counter. Lots of windows for viewing the wildlife. Comfortable beds. My family had a memorable time.

The Cozy River Cottage was a great place to stay. A gorgeous cabin with an incredible setting in the woods. My sunrise walk to flyfish was less than 300 feet. While no fish graced my lures it was very relaxing. Only negative experience was the malfunctioning Direct TV volume- but we didnt go there for television.

We had a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful home and location! Everything was great! It is a short 20 minute drive into downtown Traverse City. There were two little issues that were resolved VERY quickly by the management company (TV wasn't working and couldn't find the lockbox). The cabin is gorgeous! We will definitely be staying here again!

This is a great place to stay - the "cottage" is a beautifully appointed, like new home. It is on a spectacular section of the river that you can walk down to and fish, swim or just enjoy the view and peace and quiet. It is 10 min outside of Traverse City and I just cannot say enough about how much our family enjoyed the entire property!
