This delightful one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin on the Boardman River accommodates up to four guests and is open all year round. This is a breathtaking location on the river, and it's soothing sounds can be heard throughout the cabin.
Step into a spacious great room with stunning views of the entire living area. The living room features a wood-burning fireplace and a smart TV. Above the living room, there's a small loft accessible by a ladder, which has a full bed (ideal for older kids or young adults). Additionally, there's a futon in the living area.
Outside, relax on the expansive deck with a beautiful view of the river. Take advantage of the three kayaks provided and explore the river's twists and turns. For a warmer water experience, indulge in a soothing soak in the hot tub located on the deck.
There's a canoe/kayak portage just a few minutes down the road, or boats can launch from the property onto a calmer section of the river. The house is conveniently situated just 11 miles from downtown Traverse City and 14 miles from the Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Lovely cabin sitting right on the Boardman River. Great location for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Cabin isn’t fancy but includes everything you need. Well stocked with the essentials. It was clean and the hot tub was amazing for morning coffee or star gazing. We had a great stay and would definitely go back.

The location, setting, and relaxing views was amazing, I think we might have been one of the first of the season though because the water had a very rotten egg smell and we could not shower because the hot water was very rancid smelling. but the cabin was clean, well stocked for supplies and was so very cozy and welcoming.

Amazing rental! Probably the best location that we have found in Michigan, so much so that we started looking for riverfront property as soon as we got home so that we could have a place like this to escape to whenever we wanted - but so far, this place has been one of a kind! It's not a big place, but it was cozy and more than accommodating for the two of us to feel right at home. The kitchen was well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The only thing that we had trouble with when we arrived after sunset was finding the light switches, but it makes for a fun game to find what they are hidden behind (in the daylight). The pairing of the hot tub and the river was perfect, and what's more, being able to bring our pups along for this adventure was a wonderful addition.

It’s a perfect combination of modern convenience and old charm on a wonderful spot. The setting for this property is absolutely beautiful. The Boardman river is only a few feet from the front porch, and the home is surrounded by majestic pines. In short, the property is exactly as represented in the pictures on the listing. My husband and I stayed two weeks (with our dogs) while our daughter was in camp in the area, and we found the property to be perfect for our needs. We had to work part of the time, and the peaceful setting contributed to our ability to focus. The internet was dependable and allowed us to conduct meetings and work online without a problem. The property was extremely clean. If we did have a question or concern, the property managers were exceptionally quick to help. As represented in the listing, the property does not have air conditioning - I would recommend renters bring a fan or two (two fans are provided) in the summer. Also, the entrance to the property is a little tricky to find - though once you do it is not a problem to locate again. The property is also off a sometimes busy road (the property is well back from the road, so traffic noise is not an issue), so you do need to be mindful of fast drivers when entering and exiting the property. Overall, the property was cozy, beautiful, and close to activities and good restaurants (in both Traverse City and Kingsley). We enjoyed our stay!

Location, location, was perfect. Having been a former resident of Traverse City, I know my way around and have friends and family there. This place provided an excellent starting place to go and do what we wanted. Big yard and seclusion. There is no grill. The old one in the shed was nasty and needs to be replaced. The fire pit was filled with debris inside and around it. Taking the trash can up the long driveway with a considerable incline toward the end was difficult for us old folks. That was disappointing. There were plenty of fans and the evenings were cool. No AC wasn't a problem. It was comfortable. No Internet for streaming, only Netflix. There was a microwave which wasn't listed on amenities so we brought one. The toaster was a toaster oven so we never used the stove. Perfect! This is an older cabin, not a luxury resort. It's what we wanted. Clean and well organized. Hope the issues of the grill and firepit are resolved when we come back.

We had a wonderful time at this property! The location is perfect, close enough to shopping/food but far enough away for some much needed quiet and privacy. The surrounding land and river is so peaceful and the added touch of fresh fallen snow made for gorgeous views out all of the windows (and there are lots of windows which was one of the things we loved most about the inside). The cabin worked great for our family of 4 and our fur baby (chocolate lab), but the hot tub was the big hit of the weekend. It was so much fun to sit in it and have the snow falling around us, watching the stars twinkle in the sky and spend time reconnecting our family to each other. The property management company was easy to work with and provided plenty of instructions for our stay. We enjoyed hiking at nearby trails, as well as a day in Suttons Bay to collect some delicious wines. Overall, we highly recommend this property and can’t wait to visit again!

Nice place, loved the area! The cabin is so cozy. The hot tub was fantastic! I was surprised the bed was even comfy. It was easy to get to, not to far from town. The only thing that was wrong, which isn't the owners fault was the fact that people who have visited week/month before us can't clean up after their dogs outside.

What a gem!! The cabin is small but perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. The view and sound of the river right outside is calming and beautiful.The cabin itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay, small but smartly arranged living space. Would ��% stay here again and recommend to friends.You can hear traffic on River Rd. but it’s not a super busy road and it fades into the background quite easily. Proximity to Traverse City is a plus if you like to mix city activities into your trip. Hiking trails are a short car ride away too. Oh and get some birdseed for the feeders and be blown away by the winged visitors!!

This was our second time staying here and it was even better than the first. This year the cabin was acquired by the local company Visit Up North. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean and took many precautions for COVID.I also got a text update when we could arrive at the cabin!! This place is in the perfect location. We will always consider and recommend this place to all of our friends and family. My only complaint was that the shower water pressure was weak and we lost water pressure completely several times during our showers.Otherwise our second stay here was even better than last year. New updates were noticed and we appreciated from the smart TV to better bedding. Thank you Visit Up North for making this incredible cabin even better!

The cottage is right next to the Boardman river and huge floor-to-ceiling windows make it easy to sit and watch the water flow by. Very relaxing. Also great for a rainy day, because even in the rain the view of the river and trees was fantastic.The listing didn't advertise a fire pit but happily there was one so we were able to enjoy a campfire.We'd hoped to use the kayaks but the river was too fast to use them without a ride back upstream.The cottage was fairly clean, but some corners hadn't been dusted or vacuumed in a while. The shower lost pressure quickly even though we tried to conserve water. The shed and garage were pretty rough and shed door frame was loose. Still, we would go back there for the river and the fact you can enjoy it even from inside due to the large windows.

There was nothing about this property that wasn't wonderful. The location is so peaceful and serene; the pictures really don't do it justice. The kitchen is well-appointed and very easy to work in. Hiking trials are nearby and downtown Traverse is a quick 8 minutes drive away. The Up North staff could not had been more helpful. The only problem with Boardman Bliss? I had to leave!

Our stay was fantastic and we will be staying here again. Literally no problems (except maybe those dang kitchen cabinet knobs that always catch your pants!). The house is quiet and the views out of the 3 main big windows are breathtaking. Especially in the morning. A small fire in the wood-burning furnace made the ambiance complete. Kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you would need to prepare and cook food. Everything was comfortable and cozy. Everything was in it's place and the info binder left nothing out.The only thing is that the pictures and description give the illusion of complete isolation. Which is mostly on us for assuming. Unfortunately the area is actually well trafficked. The main road is close enough to hear traffic (it's not an interstate but it's not abandoned either). Driveway is shared so expect a possible visiting dog (a very good boi) as well their truck should they go anywhere. Had a repair guy show up unannounced for the hot tub (which was waaay over-chlorinated but what are ya gonna do) and a guy who we assume was checking to see if the trash needed to go out. So we had a busy driveway on one of our days. Again tho, none of this outweighed how relaxed and comfortable we felt the whole time and we will 10/10 stay here again.

Very nice property located right on the river. Cozy, clean chalet with a wood burning stove with screen (so it's much like a fireplace) and a hot tub situated on the corner of the deck. We had a great stay! I highly recommend this property!

We had a fabulous time at the Boardman Bliss cottage! The river is beautiful, and when you're sitting on the couch by the many windows, it feels like just feet away. The cabin is warm and cozy, with all the amenities you need to make dinner and enjoy the scenery. It was very quiet and serene, but only a 15 minute drive to downtown Traverse City, which was convenient for grabbing groceries or going out to dinner. We absolutely want to come back in the future for more family getaways!

Came to boardman bliss to relax and do a little snowmobiling and everything was great but i dont reccomend bringing a trailer as i did because there is not alot of driveway room to turn around. Also the drive is steep near edge of road and makes it tricky with snow. The place and location was just what we were looking for as far as quiet, beautiful, and relaxing with the river and hot tub. Everything was clean and in working order when we arrived and we had no issues

We had a great time staying at this cabin! It was especially nice to use the hot tub while it snowed. We had one problem the morning of our checkout; we couldn’t get out of the driveway after the snow. The driveway has a small, but steep incline at the road. We had to lay down salt and get a little assistance from a passer by. It all worked out, but if you’re visiting in the winter months you e been warned!

Our stay at Boardman Bliss was absolutely wonderful. The cabin was wonderful and the view is absolutely amazing. We had some high winds one afternoon and a tree fell across the drive, management was outstanding. Told us local caretaker would be out after work and he came right out to cut up tree. Really nice. We will be booking again for a return trip. Note to new guests, key to shed is in the kitchen on cabinet for bbq.

This home is the perfect place for a couple to unwind. The sound of the river was exactly what I needed that weekend. The house is the perfect size and the hot tub was a bonus. The only suggestion I would give is to check the dishes before using. We ended up washing everything because there was still food on the first few we took off the shelf and in the drawer. Other than that minor thing, it was a very comfortable home and the location was spot on.

This place was perfectly secluded with seemingly nothing around except nature. Yet it is only ~20 minutes from everything the wonderful traverse city has to offer. The cabin is so quaint and cozy and perfect for a relaxing weekend. The only complaint i have is upon arrival, the hot tub cover was off and the water was ice cold, and the heater would not turn on, we could not get anyone to come fix it until the next day... (on a 2 night stay) luckily I was able to find a manual online and learned how to fix the problem myself. We will definitely consider coming back to this cute little place.

Overall we loved our stay at Boardman Bliss cabin and would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a short or extended getaway.Pros:- Beautiful location right on the river.- Well maintained cabin with stunning view and plenty of amenities.- Hot tub.- Outdoor seating (and kayaks for the summer).- Excellent location, very close to downtown Traverse City but far enough removed to be secluded in nature and close to trails.Cons:- Well water coming through sinks and shower puts off a very bad odor.- The previous guests had brought their dog but did not pick up after it. There was droppings all over the “front” yard.- At some point before our arrival the light cover directly outside the front door had fallen and shattered but not been cleaned up. We arrived to glass shards covering the walkway and front porch area that we spend the rest of our stay trying to avoid/remove tiny slivers.

With winter snow typically the outdoors is not maintained the same as it is in the summer. We do ask guests to clean up after their pets and this obviously did not happen. Boardman Bliss was everything we had imagined. This cozy cabin that lies on the river is everything you could imagine when talking about an up north cabin vacation. It truly felt like a home away from home. The hot tub was a great relaxer after a day of exploring and hiking, along with a night by the wood burner. If I had to pick on one thing that was not so satisfying, it would have to be the neighbor guy to the right of the cabin. His dog was never on a chain, which we understood that not everyone trains or cares for there dog the same way as others, but his dog would come onto the property, sometimes on the deck, which was not appealing at all. We did ask him to please keep his dog away from the cabin as we had a dog there of our own. Other than that, this place is everything you could ask for, we will definitely be back again!

How wonderful that you experienced a true up north experience. It is a special spot isn't it. We can't do much about the neighbors. Things can be pretty laid back in this area and its hard to change the way people live. The neighbor does live down his own private road and is not next to this cabin if other guests are wondering.Perfect getaway!

This cabin is thee most magical place. Have to see it to believe it! Only down fall was a check out time of 10am. We didn't want to leave! There was a neighbor that came to check on us. It was nice of him but unnecessary. They provided us with plenty of contacts and info if there were something we needed. We can't wait to book Boardman Bliss again! A real treasure.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is isolated and serene with the occasional group of kayakers passing by. The garage and shed offered a bit of extra storage. I trailered my motorcycle up to the property so it was nice to be able to park it in the garage. It was a very hot week so AC would have been nice but we managed fine with some fans on the property and a coupe we brought with us. The kayaks in the garage gave us the opportunity for a nice 45 minute run from a launch down the road and across Garfield. We would and have recommended this property to friends.
