Spring Break in Northern Michigan

While a lot of people head south for spring break, how about heading NORTH?! Free movies at the State Theatre in Downtown Traverse City for the week of March 24-March 30. The movie schedule has not been released yet, however, you can count on a wide variety of films (most are kid-friendly).

March 24-25- Retro Weekend at Crystal Mountain. Stay in one of our Benzie County rentals and head to Crystal for skiing, snowshoeing, and lots of 80’s fun this weekend. There’s a Journey tribute band, a race up the mountain, and a bike race.

April 6 and 7, you can always count on great performances at Interlochen Center for the Arts, during any time of year. On April 6, check out the Edmar Castaneda Trio or on April 7 catch the Michigan State Percussion Ensemble (it’s free!).

Through March 26- Relax at the spa! Grand Traverse Resort is offering $50 spa treatments to get you revitalized for the spring. Stay in one of our many resort condos and spend the day enjoying these treatments (facials, massages, or nail treatments).

Any time of year, head to the Sleeping Bear Dunes for fresh air and outdoor fun. If there’s snow, bring your snowshoes. If there’s not, bring your hiking shoes and you might even see the spring flowers popping up on one of the many hiking trails. Or, head to Glen Haven for Petoskey stone hunting. There’s never a bad time for a walk on the beach.
