THE TOWN OF SUTTONS BAY - Heading north, about 15 minutes from Traverse City, you will discover the idyllic village of Suttons Bay on the eastern shore of the Leelanau Peninsula on Grand Traverse Bay. The Suttons Bay harbor has been a haven for boaters since the early 19th century. Today, families bask in the sun on the shores or walk the boardwalk around the marina. Stop in and visit the Inland Seas Visitors Center,the quaint antique shops and artist galleries, hike or snowshoe the Leelanau Trail or Bahles Park. If that's not enough visit Candy World for some sweet treats or divine lunches at Marthas Table. At the end of the day have dinner at one of the many wonderful eateries such as Boones or 45th Parallel and relax with a movie at The Bay Theatre. (and you can walk to everything!) Like sledding? Bahles Park right in the village offers family fun for free. Feel like doing a little working out? Body Balance in the village is open to walks ins. Also can rent On your way south out of town stop by the Hilltop Barn for wine tasting at Chateau De Leelanau or dine at 22 & Vines. Walk thru the great art gallery too.
