THE TOWN OF NORTHPORT - This wonderful area is worth the drive! Travel north from Suttons Bay along the M-22 corridor that curves around the bay through vineyards and orchards to the beautiful town of Northport. At the very northern tip, this quaint town offers you art galleries, shops,roadside stands, a marina, parks and sandy beaches. Check out the not-to-be-missed dog parade every summer. Music in the park every Friday night in the summer. Pick up gifts while you're going through town. Don't forget to stop at the friendly Barb's Bakery that offers yummy cinnamon rolls and a steaming cup of coffee or the Eat Stop for a great lunch. Visit the Leelanau State Park just north of the village with fantastic views of Lake Michigan or spend some time at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and state park.Also not to be missed Peterson Park and Christmas Cove for their beautiful Manitou views on sugar-sand beaches. There are many things happening in Northport summer-fall-spring-winter so check out local calendars for dates. You won't regret the drive to this wonderful place.
