<p>Short trip to Northport. 10 minutes to Suttons Bay. About 1/2 hour to Traverse City. About 20 minutes to the Leland Wine Festival. Fourth of July fireworks in Northport. 2009 Guest comment: This lovely home on the edge of an apple orchard gave us a lot of room both inside and out. It provided bedrooms and sleeping space for three generations and a nice working kitchen with enough eating area for all of us to gather. The area provided a lot of activities and the home provided a quiet retreat.<br />

This contemporary home multi level home features 4 bedrooms and 2-1/2 bath that sleeps 9/10 with 2 Queen, Full, Futon and trundle. House has concrete floors throughout most of the house. 2 upper bedrooms have bamboo floors. The concrete feels cool in the sunner and radiant heat for winter months Sunken living room, fireplace in the kitchen, winding staircase to upper bedrooms, windows and decks everywhere make this a fun place to stay with plenty of views from insideFirepit. Beautiful area to take a walk or ride your bike. Long Lake is beautiful and just enough out of the way to feel like a retreat. If you need enterainment catch a show at Interlochen. Great dining only 5 miles away. Great local produce in the summer and fall at roadside stands. You can even purchase locally raised meats, eggs and milk at local stops not far from this location. Only 7 miles to Interlochen and 9 miles to Traverse City where you can enjoy the Cherry Festival, &#038; Film Festival.Tons of shopping and specialty shops in Traverse City too. Horse Shows by the Bay is 19 miles east.Sleeping Bear Dunes makes a great day trip about a 1/2 hour drive. Spend some time on Lake Michigan while your on the west side of the peninsula too. Linens included. No smoking.Pet welcome. Can be rented with neighboring Splash Landing. Rent two for big family fun. </p>
<p>Lake information: The sandy-bottomed lake and sand bars provide plenty of swimming spots; the natural shoreline holds plentiful fish for the taking. There are even two tiny connected ponds, Mickey and Ruth Lakes, and four islands. The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy allows public access to South Island in Long Lake and the Carter-Strong Bird Sanctuary on Ruth Lake. In addition, the Gerald Oleson Foundation allows public access to its island on Long Lake. The lake is enjoyed for all types of water sports. Watercraft rentals are available locally or you can bring your own. There are two public boat ramps at Gilbert Park and Crescent Shores Boat Launch. Fishing is popular here; the lake gives up bluegill, brown bullhead catfish, green sunfish, largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike, pumpkinseed sunfish, rock bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, yellow bullhead catfish, and yellow perch. And, in winter, there is ice fishing, of course. No matter what the season, there is something interesting going on at Long Lake.</p>
