THE TOWN OF NORTHPORT - This wonderful area is worth the drive! Travel north from Suttons Bay along the M-22 corridor that curves around the bay through vineyards and orchards (as well as past the Leelanau Sands Casino)to the beautiful town of Northport. At the very northern tip, this quaint town offers you art galleries, shops,roadside stands, a marina, parks and beaches. Check out the not-to-be-missed dog parade every summer. Music in the park every Sunday night in the summer. Before you visit the park, pick up some wine at one of the many local wineries, local made breads and tasty treats from the farmstand.Some other great tips friendly Barb's Bakery that offers yummy cinnamon rolls and a steaming cup of coffee or the Eat Stop for a great lunch. Visit the Leelanau State Park just north of the village with fantastic views of Lake Michigan or spend some time at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and state park.Also not to be missed Peterson Park and Christmas Cove for their beautiful Manitou views.
